More about Kefalos Beach Tourist Village
For friendly service
The King's Hotel is situated quite close to Kefalos Beach. It's on the corner of the Tombs of the Kings Road.
The lady who owns it is called Nayia. It's basic, but clean and you can have either BB or HB.
Michele Small & friendly hotel. Pleasant staff.
Basic but clean and in an ideal location for Tombs of the Kings, Coral Bay and Pafos Harbour.
Private swimming pool, bar & restaurant
Excellent Location at Kefalos
Just got back today from Kefalos Beach and what a great holiday we had.
A fantastic location, with great facilities.
The rooms were cleaned every day and the linen and towels changed every 2 days.
The entertainers were brilliant and we never saw the kids.
Everyone there agreed what a brilliant place it was and many of them had been there several times.
If you can afford to stay there instead of the Damon then do so as a much better location.
I think that we will be making a return visit.
Fantastic, friendly staff, wonderful!!!!!
We have just returned from my sister's wedding in Phapos and we stayed at the Kefalos Beach Village which was right next to the hotel where they got married - the Ellisium.
The hotel was modern, clean, with spacious rooms, lovely pool area and very friendly staff. I would most definately return here again and would recommend it to anyone! The only thing I would say is that this area of Phapos is quite pricey so if you are expecting prices cheaper than the UK you will be very surprised as it is a bit more expensive but well worth the money!
We stayed B & B and the breakfast was very good with a good choice of food, all of a good standard. The restaurant staff were welcoming and friendly always and this added to an all together great holiday!!!!!
Go here and you will not be disappointed!!!!
Ten of us stayed at Kefalos Beach Village in June this year. The complete experience was fantastic. This started at the check in when we were warmly welcomed and shown to our rooms. All staff were very friendly and the entertainment team shone making our holiday a memorable experience and one to which we will definately return. We only had two children in our group with the remaining eight of us being adults, the entertainment team were as skilled at entertaining us as they were the children.
The newly opened restaurant next to the Pool Bar was excellent value for money with a varied menu and once again the staff were excellent and making us all feel special.
As a previous review states, the rooms are basic but everything you require is included and you can't expect 5* when you pay for 3*!! The area is so beautiful that you won't spend much time in your room anyway!
Of all the restaurants outside that we tried Raffles was by far the best, with a 7.95 cy pound 3 course meal, and again service that you just don't get at home.
Myself and my boyfriend stayed in Kefalos Beach Village for 2 weeks, just before the start of the main holiday season. The hotel was relatively busy, and the entertainment from the company '4front' was brilliant. There were kids activites, and activities for adults such as water polo throughout the day. In the evening there was some entertainment, quizes etc, some nights are better than other but you are told what they are on the notice board.
We stayed B&B and the breakfast was lovely, full english, toast, fruit, yogurt cereal etc.
The only reason I havent put this as excellent is because of the location. Its very quiet in the hotel itself, but there isn't much to do right on your doorstep, and the restaurants around the area aren't cheap, a trip to fat mammas is defiantely a good night out, but thats about it in this particular area. There a a few cheapy bars that do food, tramps and o'neils are good. Also the beach isn't nice at all, but a short bus journey to coral bay is a must-do.
The hotel itself is very clean, and the maids come to your room and clean every day, they even do your washing up! But make sure you put do not disturb sign on your door every night otherwise they'll be in at 8AM!!!!
This is definately a holiday for familes as well as couples - you can even get married on site!!! Theres 2 water parks nearby and a go-karting track which is very fun and not too expensive. There is also a health spa that does massage, manicures etc, so very relaxing and not too expensive. All in all a fantastic holiday.
Great Holiday, Great Accommodation!
We have just returned from a week at Kefalos Beach staying half board in a 1 bedroom apartment and had a great holiday!
The accommodation was good and had everything you need; some previous reviews complained about mould and dated decor but we had no mould in our rooms and the furnishings were exactly what you'd expect in a holiday apartment - plain and functional. The apartment was large and clean and there were air conditioning units in the bedroom and living room/kitchen and a TV that showed BBC1 (perfect for Wimbledon!).
The literature in the room stated that there was maid service 6 days a week and towel changes 3 times, however we had maid service everyday and I think there were only 2 days that the towels weren't changed. A previous reviewer mentioned that the towels were old and grey but they looked OK to us! During our stay, we asked for additional pillows and new batteries for the TV remote control and these were delivered to the room immediately.
We didnt have a pool/sea view apartment and were concerned about this after reading some reviews. We telephoned the hotel before our stay to see if we could upgrade but were advised that we could only do this on our arrival at an additional cost of CYP£10 a day. We decided against this and were not overly disappointed. Our balcony looked out onto another apartment block but there was plenty of space in between apartments and it didnt feel claustrophobic.
The pool area was really nice and there were plenty of sun loungers available (although on our last day the hotel seemed to fill up a lot and we struggled to find a couple of free sunbeds). The hotel is right on the beach and there are also lots of sun loungers available on the grass and the small beach area. The beach was a thin strip of rocky sand but I think that previous reviewers have criticised it unfairly; it isn't your typical gorgeous sandy beach but it gives fantastic views (especially at sunset), there are watersports located there, and plenty of people were swimming in the sea whilst we were there (although we didnt!)
We stayed half board and the food was buffet style for breakfast and evening meal. It was all pretty reasonable and we managed to find something we liked most nights. To be really picky (!) we had a couple of small complaints: coffee and juice at breakfast weren't great and the waiting staff were sometimes too efficient, trying to take away your plate whilst you were still eating! Its also not a very atmospheric dining experience, the Greek night was good with live music and dancing but on other nights it was more like a school dining hall. We bought lunch at the pool bar a couple of times but we didnt think the food was that great and it was quite pricy too so we used our self catering facilities instead.
Paphos was a good location and there was a lot to do during a 1 week holiday. We took a boat trip one day, visited Coral Bay beach on another couple of days (we can recommend this!) and went to the Tombs of the Kings. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops on the main road which is a couple of minutes walk from Kefalos Beach (there is also a supermarket at Kefalos Beach). The main nightlife is in the harbour area (Bar street) and is a CYP£4-5 taxi journey or a 30 minute walk away. Its the usual holiday nightlife; lots of touts and watered down cocktails!
We didnt have airport transfers booked and just caught a taxi when we arrived; it cost CYP£17 to Kefalos Beach one way - we booked the same taxi for our return. The hotel had a left luggage area and a courtesy room you could use. As a previous review states, the left luggage room isnt locked and is accessible to anyone who knows where it is - we just made sure we locked our cases.
Overall a good, relaxing holiday in a nice location with fantastic weather - we found no problems with Kefalos and enjoyed our stay.
Amazing holiday, beautiful hotel!
I have just returned from a week spent at Kefalos Beach Hotel with my boyfriend and my only complaint would be that we didn't stay for longer! We stayed half board and found the food to be really nice, each night has a theme including BBQ night (my fave), Mediterranean, Carvery Night etc etc. The only time we didn't eat in the hotel restaurant was on the Cyprus/Greek themed night as I do not really like this type of food, but I'm sure it was up to the same high standard as every other night.
The pool was lovely, with a friendly life guard which is great for those with young children and there are plenty of sun loungers and umbrella's for everyone. You could even lay all day in the sun on a lounger and the friendly outdoor bar staff would come over to you and serve you drinks at food to your sun bed which was a nice luxury.
When we arrived at the hotel we were most pleased with the reception staff. After our flight being delayed for four hours and arriving in the middle of the night we were exhausted to say the least an we were greeted with friendly faces, given a meal voucher for the one we had missed due to the delay and taken to our room via a special golf buggy to save us carrying our cases over to it, which we really appreciated them waiting up to do!
The maids were good, rooms were cleaned every day and to a high standard. We were even granted the use of a courtesy room on our final day so that we could freshen up before our flight which again was at night so it was much needed.
Finally Paphos itself was lovely. There are plenty of quiet places to visit including the bird park, safari trips etc which I would reccomend and there is also the Paphos water park which is definitely a day I will not forget from our holiday.
Thanks so much Kefalos staff for making my holiday so memorable!
Sunny Cyprus Sun
On Arrival at Kefalos beach, we were taken to our room in what could be described as a golfing buggy [brilliant]. We got to the apartment and on the beds were our towels - I don't know how they did it but they had made them look like swans. The apartment was everything I'd hoped for [air conditioning thank goodness]. The breakfast was fantastic - They cater for every nationality, and because its a buffet you can keep going back until you are full. The barman Vikkas was lovely....The staff working in the resturant seem to stare at you, but we figured that out, it was in case you needed anything [if
it were in their power they would bring you the moon]. Very, Very clean - people cleaning everywhere...... Places we visited - Ayia Napa [brilliant night life, excellent beaches ie-Nissi beach].....Cape Grecco [ Snorklers paradise - and so is the bay of Aphrodite, when we went there it was like we had gone to another world]...Larnaca--what was known as the strip in Larnaca use to
be quite empty, but demand and popularity has made it a thriving place, if you knew the old roads of Larnaca be prepared for a few changes... Coral Bay - many water sports.... In a place called Dhekelia there is a cafe/resturant called Ceesacs, they bring you salad and bread with everything you order......its a good place to eat if your that way !..I could go on and on about Cyprus - I lived there for 3 years in the early 90's and this july 2006 was the
first time we'd been back, it was like going to see an old friend........hire a car if you go to cyprus because there is so much to see. Enjoy !!
Everything was wonderful
We were on holiday in June for one week. We are very satisfied about the accomodation, food and staff. The hotel is like a small cyprios village, is very clean, close to the beach and to local points of view.
We thought it was a good decision and found no better place in Paphos.
We are vegaetarians and there was no problems to find good meals at the self-service breakfast and dinner. Once the cook made us a special meal for two - a vegetable curry -
as we told him, that on this evening there was nothing special for us to eat.
The food - especially for us Germans - is very english. We didn't like the english breakfast but we alwalys found something different. A good place to stay - we can advise this.
The Kefalos has a good standard - but it is not very exclusive.
KEFALOS BEACH HOTEL
MY PARTNER AND I ARE GETTING MARRIED IN PAPHOS ON 24 SEPT 07.WE ARE TRAVELING WITH OUR 2 CHILDREN CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF WE CAN BUY NAPPIES AND SMA MILK NEAR THE HOTEL.ANY ONE GOING TO BE OUT THERE IN SEPT.
RE: KEFALOS BEACH HOTEL
Unfortunately can't give you precise info about shopping just around the hotel, but to my observation supermarkets in Cyprus and small "minisupermarkets"are well stocked with various goods, incl. all what you can need for a child.
RE: KEFALOS BEACH HOTEL
Me and my partner are going to Kefalos on the 9th to the 16th Sept, shame we wont be there when it is your wedding! I know there is a supermarket on site so i would email kefalos (www.kefalos.com.cy/) and im sure they would be able to tell you if their supermarket sells the products you want. Ive read some really good reviews about kefalos!!!
