Beautiful days and fun filled nights.

I have had my best times and worst times in Cyprus, and have made some of the best friends I have ever known there. The weather is perfect during the summer, and I never cease to enjoy the beaches. When I have brought someone to Pafos, they are taken out to barstreet, and no one has ever gone home without a few hillarious memories. What I miss the most is the atmosphere, most people (bar the outrageously drunk) are out to relax and have fun, the bars offer amusment in forms of foam and popcorn parties, but to be honest just buying a lollipop from a shop in barstreet, sat on a step with my friends and people watching is enough to make me smile. I always return home with a phone full of new numbers and emails scrawled on my hands.
Tombs of the Kings
by call_me_rhia
The Tombs of the Kings is an interesting necropolis to visit, it lies about 2 or 3 kilometres outside the town of Phaphos. Dating back to the 4th century BC, this necropolis is spread over a vast area by the see you can visit several impressive omb chambers carved out of bare rock, some with decorations or doric pillars.
No one really knows who was buried in this necropolis - possibly it was some local aristocrats and high officials. One fact is sure, no king has found his resting place here - so thaìe name has to do with the fact that these imposing tombs could have befitted a king.
To get to the tombs you can take local buses (number 10, if I am not mistaken) or a taxi. If you prefer to walk, it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to get there from the harbour area, but you'll be walking along a road with heavy traffic and smelly fumes...
Palea Paphos
by leics
Palea Paphos was the original settlement in the area, and lies in the village of , a few km from modern Paphos. Older than the archaeological site by Paphos harbour it has been severely damaged over the centuries, not least by local people taking the stones for their own buildings. The photo shows holes drilled into the stones by treasure-seekers.
It's still worth visiting though. Excavations have revealed the Sanctuary of Aphrodite, some building foundations, a later siege ramp and tunnels, part of a city gate and a Roman villa with a beautiful mosaic of Leda and the Swan.
Finds from the site are on display in the manor house (La Cavocle) within the site. These include the stone betyl/phallic monolith which once represented Aphrodite, pottery and bronzework and a very impressive (11th century) chalk bathtub complete with built-in soapdish!
Open daily 0800 - 19.30 in summer, to 1700 0r 1800 in winter/autumn. Entrance 2CY, which is probably about 4 euros and includes entrance to the museum.
The best waiters possible!
by wkdblonde about Maestros
It's a lively place down some alleyway !? The portions of food are HUGE great for a pre clubbing fill up. Been going here for the past 5years, as the waiters are friends of mine. The staff are very friendly and chatty and always willing to help! Grilled Chicken, because its simple and comes with every side order you could possibly ask for.
Lovely Black Snapper
by piersend about Corallo
Didn't manage to get to Corallo on this visit, but last time I remember having really nice Black snapper! The fish seemed smaller than Red snapper an there were 3 of them on the plate. There are some lovely colourful trees surrounding the Restaurant. They do Keo by the Litre bottle. Black Snapper, Kleftico.
