paphos in october

by cyprus08rachel

I've just returned from paphos with nine of my friends and we had a really good time, particularly enjoying the night life on bar street. We would like to return this October so I was wondering if anyone knew what the weather was like at that time and, most importantly, if it is still busy with a good night life in October?
Thanks a lot

Travel Tips for Paphos

Try some of the local produce

by piersend

There is a lot of home produced drink in Cyprus, the Keo and Carlsberg is locally produced so better value than imported beers. Brandy is very cheap as are all spirits. Try some of the local drinks like:
Filfar-A lovely orange flavoured liquer.
Zivania-Strong clear spirit-made from grapes but tastes a bit like Tequilla. and
Comandaria-A bit like Port

Sunbathing with the turtles eggs

Hire a car-4x4 preferably and head west towards Lara beach. This beach is a PRESERVATION AREA so think on. It is a abeautiful unspoilt area of sandy beach, the road is pretty rough geting there, you pass a couple of decent beaches on the way, one of them when we were there had enormous waves, and bathing didn't look too clever. However Lara beach is fantastic, very safe (seemingly), it is very popular with the Cypriots, I don't blame them I think if I lived there i would go there in preference to the main Coral Bay Beach. The weather was blistering, there are no facilities so come prepared with water etc. There is a Restaurant (in a lovely position), didn't go there so can't comment. Please regard the marked areas where there are turtle nests, these are a threatened species. There are more pics on my Lara beach travelogue. (pending)

Endless Debauchery

by wkdblonde about Bubbles

How to describe Bubbles, every teenagers dream come true? Young boys who serve you strangely watered down drinks for stupid prices. Beverages from the UK sold out of date, but no one cares or notices anyway! Despite this, it has the best atmosphere of many bars I have ever been to. It is a BubblesBoys perogative to make every teenage girl feel like she is the most wonderful girl alive. They tend to bore of old timers though, as the newbies are more likely to be unknowning of a Bubbles Boys reputation. Beware of impulse stripping and random objects being set on fire. But as with most places....watch your drink. anything goes, most choose not much at all.

meal with a view

by anna-m about Captain's View

When you are in Paphos, this restaurant is a must. Not so much for the food- it is as good (or as bad) as anywhere else- but, as the name suggests, for the spectacular view to the sea. Sit on the large terrace and enjoy the cool sea breeze while being served by really friendly staff. A very relaxing experience! They serve a good variety of desserts
Yummy! :)

TV screens, nice ice cream and black russians!

by piersend about Blazing Saddles

This is one of the bigger bars in Coral Bay, they do food (snacks etc) but mainly it's an American style bar, there.s heap big TV screens for sporting events and 3 pool tables. Nice strong cocktails and friendly table service. Black Russian
