We were robbed in this hotel

We visited this hotel in October 2010. It was supposed to be our honeymoon. The second day of our stay in Prague we came back to our hotel room and found all our things on the floor, everything in complete chaos. All our precious things were missing!!!! The reaction of the reception was strange and rude. They told us that it was out of their responsibility and they could hardly do anything for us. Just great!!! All they could do was to call the police, who came two hours later. We spent some hours at the police station. The most interesting thing is that we found our room locked with the key, that means that the thief had the key from the room.... We got some kind of excuses from the reception only when we had called to our trip agent who contacted the hotel reception. It was our worst travel experience ever. Many thanks to Hotel Anna, its manager and reception!!!!

they systematically overbook

when we arrived the hotel was overbooked though we has prepaid : they redirect customers to a less charming "sister" hotel 2 blocks away. Will never go back to that hotel though Prague is the ultimate beauty.

Unique Quality: basic, unsmiling, unexplanatory

Vinohardys Best

Not a bad place actually.Although compared to previous hotels this one is a long way behind.the room was changed everyday, towells were always replaced and it was always very warm.Breakfast though was dissapointing as it only had cheese and yougart and dry tomatoes. After three days i didnt bother! Also some of the staff, not all of them but some could be very rude.
The hotel is situated in the district Vinohardy and it takes 10 minutes roughly to get from here to Wenclesas Square. There is a resturant next door and one over the road.

Unique Quality: Altogether this hotel was okay for a single traveler, although i wouldnt recomend it to couples or to a family. It was clean, tidy and everything was done to a high standard.
Despite this though i still get a impression that although it was clean, tidy and spacious it could have been better.

Great Hotel

I arranged for my parents to stay at this hotel for their 25th wedding anniversary. It was amazing, they were put in a suite even though we'd paid for a double room and they happily arranged for champagne to be in their room when they arrived. The staff could not have been more helpful, my parents (who got to meet the staff!) totally agree. They had a fantastic time at Hotel Anna. It's location was great also.

Hotel Anna

Stayed at Hotel Anna for long weekend in June. Good clean, but basic accomodations - Anna was definitely the better alternative to Praha 1 hotels that cost twice as much.

Everything is within walking distance - public transportation very close and easy. I selected Anna based upon previous VT reviews and they were all accurate.

Hotel Anna

We stayed in this small hotel in the suburb of Vinohrady which was well within walking distance to Wenceslas square.
The hotel was clean, all the rooms large and with all facilities. We paid around 43GBP per night and a generous continental breakfast was included

More about Anna Hotel

Anna has her own special charm

by TripAdvisor Member Sharoninsc

We enjoyed two stays at the Hotel Anna in June, 2005. Though the rooms are modestly furnished, and the elevator holds just one person at a time, the hotel it has some great advantages. The people at the front desk all speak English and could not be more helpful ("That's what I'm here for," said one, when I thanked her for helping with theater tickets, and reading the city map). If you don't speak Czech, getting help with reservations and directions makes life a lot easier in Prague. The staff will gladly arrange for efficient and honest taxi service to and from their hotel. The hotel is just around the corner from a "Cyber-Laundromat," so you can check email while you wash and dry your clothes. The hotel is quite near a Metro station, making it easy to get into the city. It's a good hike from the City Center (we walked it once and got very lost!) but the Metro is a cinch to use, even for non-Czech speakers. You'll find lots of restaurants in the Anna neighborhood, including a charming sidewalk bar/cafe right next door. By the way, if you love classical music, try to catch a symphony concert at the Rudolfinium downtown--but there seem to be concerts scheduled in lots of places.

Book with care!

I cannot comment on the quality of the hotel as I did not get past the lobby! Despite making a reservation several months in advance we arrived to find that the hotel could not provide the 3 rooms that we had booked. Instead of 3 twin rooms they offered 2 twins and a double. As we could not check in until later we went for a stroll. On our return we discovered that a second of our twin rooms had been given to someone else who had just arrived. This family had booked just 2 days previously. We eventually moved hotels and had a fantastic stay at the Hotel Clarice.

Good value

by A TripAdvisor Member

A group of ten of us stayed in Hotel Anna on a girlie weekend. For the price we payed, we were more than happy. It had all the requirements that we needed for a basic hotel stay - the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were spotless. The staff were very helpful. The walk into town was fairly simple and the area around the hotel felt perfectly safe, even in the early hours of the morning when returning from a great night out.

Fantastic Staff at an OK Hotel

by A TripAdvisor Member

Incredibly friendly and helpful young staff are the backbone to keeping this hotel going. Whether you are looking to go on tours, asking for restaurant reservations or need help mapping out the best way to get from point A to point B the staff at the front desk were more than happy to help. The room and bathroom were very large, though fairly sparse and basic. It had all the essentials...but not an ounce more. The nice breeze from the open windows was almost not worth the noise that went on until all hours of the night--request a quiet room (and one on a lower floor---the elevator about the size of a coffin. There are very few restaurants, sites and activities around the hotel, but the Red Barron down the street has excellent food and is a great deal.

Q: Prague public transportation "Hello VT; I'm so confused how the 1 day or 3 days pass works. It says that you have to validate the pass/ticket before..."

A: "You validate it once and then it is good for the 24/72 hours on all public transport whether metro, bus or tram."
