Good Hotel Near Old Town Square
We enjoyed our 2-night stay in this centrally-located, well-maintained hotel. Just a block from Old Town Square and a short Metro ride from the train station, the place offered a refuge from the crowded action all around. The room was of decent size and clean. The bathroom setup was a bit quirky but perfectly functional. Complimentary breakfast served just off the lobby. Among the amenities were free Internet access, Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and even laptops to borrow if you can beat the other guests to it (leave your passport as a deposit). The downside: because the hotel is just off Old Town Square, there can be a lot of "beer-related" street noise at night. You can mitigate the noise by getting a room on a higher floor. Those with limited mobility should note there is no elevator.
Unique Quality: - Centrally located - Free Internet access - Loaner laptops and DVDs for guests - Hotel shuttle and laundry service available (cost extra) - No elevator

Atmospheric hotel
We stayed in rooms 17 (attic), 18 and 10. The attic room was very nice, big and clean.
Default of the hotel the non-existance of elevator. So you have to climb the 2 floors for room 10 and 3 floors for 18. As for 17 you have another one stair inside the room. Considering we were carrying heavy suitcases it was a subject (of course known before our arrival). Staff assisted us in carrying up to the first floor where we stored them for few hours before checking in.
The location is perfect, just behind the astronomical clock.
Disadvantages of the No.17 attic room: 1. Very sensitive in external temperature. Suppose this doesn't matter during winter with central heating but in the summer with no airconditioning.... 2. Very-very small bathroom located downstairs from the main room 3. Hotel is surrounded by restaurants and if you keep windows open smells come and visit you.
Generally satisfied.

lovely hotel u tri bubnu
by TripAdvisor Member janeChesterfield
A group of six of us have just returned from a 4 night stay at the tri bubnu in prague. I have only praise for the hotel, it is clean, spacious, the beds are very comfortable and the staff are very helpful. But the best plus points are the location and price. The hotel is situated very close the the old town square where there are lots of local bars in the vicinity (try the bar on Jilska very cheap and excellent food).
Would definitely recommend this to anyone. Breakfast is not too bad and that is coming from someone who left it till the last minute every day, just make sure you fill your plate before 10.00 am.
Perfectly located ...........

The U Tri Bubnu (The Three Drums) Hotel could not be more perfectly located, as it sits on one of the corner entrances to Old Town Square. A short journey from the Airport by bus to a Metro Station and thereafter an even shorter Metro journey sees you just a two minute walk from the Hotel.
Our room was located on the first floor and was furnished and decorated to a high standard, with a beautiful wooden beamed ceiling. The room had a separate toilet with wash-hand basin, and the main part of the bathroom offered a bath, with integrated shower, and wash-hand basin. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spotless. The room was located to the rear of the hotel and was therefore very quiet.
A continental breakfast was provided for self-service each day and offered more than enough to kick-start you for the day. A previous comment on this site mentioned 'stale bread' being on offer; I think this was actually rye bread that was being offered!
Staff were very pleasant and room was tidied each day.
Well worth the money and a return visit.
Great location

Great location, but lousy breakfasts. This is a charming hotel just off the old town square. Other reviews mentioned the noise, etc. but we did not find this to be a problem. The room had a fan so we didn't have to open our windows and this kept the noise down. Our room was spacious with a beautiful painted ceiling-veery comfortable. The breakfast room and the food served was the only disappointment. In spite of this, you can't beat the location or price and I would stay here again.
Super Hotel - Ideal Location

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during June 2005, and found the hotel exactly what we were looking for. Having tired of 4 star hotels which are all identical throughout the world, we decided we wanted something a little different. The hotel is situated next to the Old town Square and could not have been in a more ideal situation. We managed to see all the sights we wanted by walking from the Hotel, without using any public transport, apart from a boat ride.
The room was immaculately decorated with a really large bed, plenty of space, TV and a drinks fridge and was much better then some of the more luxurious hotels we have stayed in which usually have much smaller rooms. The ceiling was also beamed and the room was spotless with an ensuite bathroom.
The continental breakfast supplied was adequate but there were not many choices, having said that we did not want a typical English breakfast of bacon and eggs anyway !. Use the hotel's taxi service, it is much cheaper then elsewhere.
The receptionist staff were very friendly and pleasant and their English was perfect, and they made our day with a smile every morning and evening.
The only down points were there seemed to be an endless amount of steps to reach the 3rd floor and the breakfast room was very small which I would imagine could get rather crowded during busier months. Not everyone would be happy with the breakfasts though.
Never the less this was well worth the money and we would definitely stay here again if we decided to visit Prague in the future.

Great hotel, very good value for money

Absolutely great location, literally on the door step of some of the most beautiful sites in Prague. A good climb to some of the bedrooms but worth it for hotel location, adequate continental breakfast, clean and pleasant room. Very friendly, helpful staff. Thoroughly recommended.
Great Staff but better places to stay
by A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed for two nights at the Hotel at the Three Drums and although the location was great for during the day, it was extremely loud at night. The hotel staff were great and very accomodating. There is always someone on staff 24 hours a day. The rooms however don't look as if they have been kept up very well since the renovations. The rug was wearing out in some spots. The toliets had trouble flushing..even without toliet paper. We stayed for three nights previously at the Raddisson SAS Alcron and for the $30 difference a night we should have stayed there for two more nights. We thought we would have an authentic Prague experience but what we ended up with was too touristy for our liking. The breakfast was nothing spectacular... but it seemed to be quite average based on what we found on our three week honeymoon in Europe. There was a selection of cheeses, meat, bread, yogurt, coffee, tea and juice. We definately did not see the value in what we received for what we paid. Also if you are looking for cheaper restaurants they are a bit of a walk out of Old Towne. La Louvre restaurant was great for breakfasts and desserts but not the best for dinner.
excellent holiday

We have just returned from our trip to Prague. We have stayed in Three Drums Hotel and we can recomend the hotel to everyone. The location could not have been better. Our room had unforgetable charming atmosphere. /We read on the web, that the house was built in 15th century!/. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I will choose the hotel again, and I will recommend it to anyone traveling to Prague.
loved this hotel!

this is a real gem. So close to old town square you can roll out of bed and hit the famous clock. It was very cold when we were there and the rooms where warm and cosy after a days sightseeing this was very wlcome. Forget the upper rooms if you can't climb stairs. The staff were great, the breakfast was adaquate but we will definately go back.

Stayed there just before Christmas. The location is great, the room we had was nice too, especially having two bedrooms, so we could put our two year old to bed without having to have all lights out for us too. Staff very friendly, the only drawback would be the breakfast. It's in the Brazilian restaurant downstairs, lingering stale smoke and spice smells....We usually skipped it, maybe get a cup of coffee before heading to Bohemia Bagel for a real breakfast. Good value for the price though. Kr2900 -3% for cash payments when we booked online.
