The botel Admiral is docked south of the city centre of Prague, about opposite the modern building called " Ginger & Fred " The city may easily be reached by tram.
Admiral Botel might be a solution for ships-lovers like I am . For more infos about this botel I made a link to their homepage ! On my pic the Botel is on the left side of the river, and in the background St.Vitus , so you may get an idea about the distance to the city Leave a Comment |
This boat-hotel is docked in the northern centre of Prague, opposite the LETNA-park.
These kind of boatels always attract my attention, as ships of that kind may dock right in the middle of town and the atmosphere inside the small rooms reminds me a lot of the time, when I was working on cruiseships. Leave a Comment |
Hotel Europa is one of the most famous hotels in Prague, mainly as it has a really great Art Nouveau-fassade and as it is located directely at Wentzel Square / Vaclavske Namesti
The interior of the restaurant and cafe is in Art Nouveau-style and offers also a nice garden along Wentzel Square. For 300 Kronen you may get a great breakfast-buffet there, quite expensive for Prague, but maybe worth a try, considdering the great architecture inside ! Hotel U Tri Pstrosu / the 3 oistrichs . It got its name by the fact that it once belonged to a rich merchant, whose only trading-object were the feathers of oistrichs - they were the latest fashion at the time around 1600 A.D. Lateron it bacame a coffe-house and finally a really great restaurant and Hotel
If you click on my pic, you may see the hotel : It is rather dark, but it is the house you see in front of the lighted tower. They offer a great breakfast-buffet for 300 Kronen. Not cheap, but a special event on a special location ! Leave a Comment Theme: HotelComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: MisenskaDirections: Right at the end of Charles Bridge |
Starting my second trip to Prague we had to face that all the hostels were allready booked out. Fortunatelly, Students from Prague leave the capitol and rent their rooms to Tourists. We paid less than 5 bucks a night and had a great location on Petrin Hill right next to Velky Strahovsky Stadium. I can't remember the location of the Rental-Company.... but there are several of them in Downtown.
It's cheap. Not a lot of comfort, though. But hey, you have to walk 500 metres and have the best view over Prague. What else do you want? Hotel Meran is a rather small hotel, directely on Wentzels Square, and the next building to Hotel Europa. The entrance is a bit hidden by Hotel Europa, and ONLY when having a look at the fassade, you will realize, that Hotel Meran is seperate.
In my opinion the fassade is even more beautiful than the one of Hotel Europa, so maybe you watch out for it, when you are there. Budget was in mind while looking in Prague, after reading so much about bad experiences with taxis, we wanted to stay as center as possible. As we were 3 or 4 originally we began to look for apartments, finding some for 60 euros per night for 4 people! Ok we did not get that one, but 80 euros was a great one for a really good size apartment. Each room was around 30 meters, kitchen and bathroom were not so big but enough for us. Well you know girls spend many hours there getting ready LOL, so there was fighting all the time, but we managed hehehehe. And a entrance & lounge. It was an old apartment of high ceilings. The furniture was all from Ikea, but even if they give you towels, take yours as Ikea towels do not dry at all!!! They also offered transfer from airport, as our flights were very late and very early, for 10 euros each (40 for 4 people return), we took it (I am sure you can get it cheaper, but it was comfortable for us!). Although this hotel was a few dollars more than what I wanted to pay for accommodation in Prague, I thought that the Dum kr?le Jir?ho (King George's House) was well worth the cost. The hotel is quite small with just eleven rooms. They are very modern, having been just recently renovated. Supposedly the building itself dates from the 15th century.
The hotel could not be better situated. It is just a five minutes walk from the Charles Bridge and there are many good restaurants and pubs in the vicinity. The staff here was quite friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant here too but nobody seems to eat there. The pub is reasonably popular. The morning breakfast was the best I had in the Czech Republic.
