Dining in Prague by dlandt
Everyone says that Prague is getting expensive but i didn't really think so. I found food and drink, even in the tourist areas, to be really quite reasonable. Of course it was cheaper to eat in the neighborhoods and to some degree you got what you paid for, but overall I found that in Prague you could buy excellent meals with beer for $5-7.
The picture here shows a traditional Czech place. They predominate in the Staro Mesto and by the castle, but you see more restaurants of different sorts as you move away from those areas. These kinds of neighborhood places are quite common throughout Central Europe and we even have some here in Chicago thanks to immigration. Czechs gather in these places for camaraderie, good food, beer, and to meet friends. You should too.Roasted meat. Excellent sausages. Hearty bread.
