Top Secret Hotel in Prague!
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. First off, the location near Nameski Republiki (Republic Square) is excellent...very easy to find cheap transport from the airport without having to deal with Pragues notorious "scam" taxis...there is a mini bus every 30 min to the square and the hotel is 100 meters away. Easy walk to the Old Town, and to the Jewish district, also many pubs, cafes, shoppes etc within 2 square blocks. Lively and a little loud at night but that's part of being in a touristy city..bring earplugs if you must.
The hotel has been in business for many years and is beautifully renovated...much nicer than we were led to believe from online photos. LARGE rooms for Europe, great bath/shower...it's a small hotel with maybe 30 rooms or so but the service is impeccable and everything is shiny clean. Alberto and I got a warm greeting from the English-speaking staff and their helpfulness never wained. I like to patronize these small hotels run by families who have been in business for a while rather than the large chains, and this one came through for us in every way.
Unique Quality: Incredibly easy to walk everywhere from here, tram lines nearby, tours leave from right around the corner, easy to get to the train station. Breakfast was excellent, only served until 10am but after that you should be out exploring this beautiful city anyway.
The room rates are high but some of the discounters offer this hotel at times, or you can email the hotel and tell them what other hotels are offering for a price during your stay to see if they can match it. We lucked out with a July "last minute" special.
