Cheapest Money Can Buy

This hotel doesn't provide the best accomodations and ammenities, but it is definitely cheap. It is probably the cheapest hotel you can find in Prague. It is a 10 minutes walk away from Metro, Chodov. You can reach every city attraction from this hotel without your wallet being depleted.

Unique Quality: The air condition had all the sound of air without an ounce of conditioning. It'll take 5-10 minutes for you to get onto an elevator. And the bathroom floor is a wasteland.

Good hotel with some weaknesses

We have been to this hotel twice, first time in 2005 and last time in May 2006.

The price of the rooms were "ok" ... we paid about 72,- Euros for a double including breakfast.

The rooms are a bit narrow but clean and comfortable. The bathroom has a shower with curtain, a sink and a wc. Towels were changed daily.

There are no drapes in front of the windows just curtains for darkening. Depending where your room is located you will directly face an office buliding a couple of meters away (or they face you ... ).

The aircondition seemed to be not cooling (it was not quite warm outside, maybe it depends on the wheather) - the window cannot be opened.

They offer garage parking for 10,- Euros per night.

Valuables can be deposited into a safe at the front desk.

You can reach the next metro station by walking (less than 10 minutes) or by bus. At the metro station "Chodov" is a newly build mall which is worth visiting.

Unique Quality: The breakfast is not the best we ever experienced ... Three kinds of saussages and chesse. No eggs, no fried ham.

The buffet is very narrow, you have to line up in a row with your tablet and get your things - including coffee.

Breakfast is very noisy ....

When you have finished you have to bring your tablet to some racks. Not quite what we like as a cosy breakfast.

good value for outside the center

I saved a lot of money staying here, mostly because I booked through expedia - it must have been 30% cheaper that way than paying what was posted at the desk. The hotel is a 20 minute metro ride out of the center, AND you have to walk 10 minutes from the metro station, but I must have paid half of what I would have if I had stayed four nights in the center of town.

Unique Quality: Decent breakfast, modern, new building.

The Top Hotel Praha

Forget grotty youth hostels, why not be reasonably comfortable? Although from the outside the Top Hotel looks like your typical Communist-style concrete block, on the inside, this four-star hotel is actually quite nice. It's certainly extremely warm in the rooms (so warm you have to open the windows to let in some of that minus fourteen degree air), and there are a couple of good restaurants and bars with very reasonably-priced food, and free Internet in the ubiquitous casino (they're everywhere in Prague). The only slight downsides are that the mattresses are what you might best describe as 'solid' and it's a little way out of town - takes about 30 minutes to reach the old city via bus and metro.

Unique Quality: £52 (about US$70) per night, including buffet breakfast. They prefer you to pay in cash - there's a 10 percent surcharge for credit card payments.
