Fingers Crossed They Will Be Full
On March 17 I booked and paid for a 2 night stay 1st July - 3rd July at this hotel. Upon arrival, and after the tiring walk with luggage up a steep hill from the Metro Station to the hotel, my daughter and I were informed at reception that there had been an administrative error and consequently we did not have a room as the hotel was fully booked. The receptionist was polite and apologetic - in the usual abrupt Czech manner - and explained that by way of compensation a taxi would be arranged by the hotel to take us to our alternative accommodation. This turned out to be the City Club Hotel, which is situated close to the town centre - unlike the Globus. So we were very happy with this aspect, as the long walk up the hill to the Globus two or three times a day in the July heat was not very appealing.
It would seem that the Globus is similar to other large hotels in this area which cater mostly for large groups of teenagers/young adults on school trips etc. There was four huge coaches parked-up in the hotel drive, with lots of beer-swilling young males milling about the forecourt, hanging out of the room windows and shouting at one-another etc, etc.
So, in conclusion, perhaps The Globus Hotel would not be the wisest of choices, particularly during summer, if you want a quiet and peaceful stay. If you do book, keep your fingers crossed that they will be full on your arrival and that you get re-allocated to the City Club Hotel, which basically is an upgrade.

Cheap for sure but ... far away from city center, sad, sad, sad --- and sad surrounding as well ... take it only if you are on budget travelling.

Ok location, not to good quality
Hotel Globes i located in Roztyly, ten mins with the Metro from the city centre. The location is actually perfect if you want a hotel that is not situated in the centre of the town, but still close.
The Hotel is looking a bit old from the outside. Paited in brown and white it looks a bit depressing, so is the entrance: Dark and not that modern.
On the room I had the size of it was ok and it had bathroom with shower, but the shower wasn't cleaned at my place. The beds is hard and not comfortable.
The breakfast isn't good. Little too choose from and not good quality.
But the hotel is ok. Good location, peaceful and "close" to the city centre!
But if you want a little over avererage standard I will not recommend this hotel!
The hotel is rated three star, though I think It only score two star.

Transportation
Can I book my transportation from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport.
I booked my accomodation at The Globus hotel- Prague, GREGOROVA 2115, PRAGUE, 14800.
I will arrive on Saturday 02/02/08 at 17:30pm, Flight #NE2123 SKYEUROPE from London Luton airport. I also need transportation on the 05/02/08 at 4:30 am to the airport.
Can you tell me the cost for both journeys. We are only 2 people myself and my son.

You´ll meet many taxis at the airport. Price is about 1 Euro/km. That´s the easiest way (or call p.e. +420257257257 to have a taxi, but I think there is always some of them). You chose the hotel in the opposite edge of Prague, co that could be about 30-35 Euro. Public transport: to the hotel it means one bus and two metro lines... to the airport on your journey back it would take many hours in the night time, so take taxi too.

You may also use a mini van transfer. It is shared ride.
We took it back in October to get to our hostel and were satisfied. It was 480 CZK for both of us.
The name of the company was CEDAZ.
No need to book, just look for it or ask an agent at the information booth at the airport.

Cedaz charges double pric to non city center hotels, therefor the price would be 960. You can use http://www.123-Prague.com to get you to globus for CZK 550 each way (up to two persons). Private hire transfer costs from 650 - 850. Regular taxi reacehs rate around 1000.
