Few questions, where to stay, taxis, clubs, bars etc

by Sean87

Hi there

me and a friend are heading to prague in early october. we will only be going from sunday to wedensday. can anyone suggest any good clubs to go to that will be busy at this time of the week and at this time of year. Also can anyone suggest a good hotel that would charge about €60-$70 a night for a twin room, that is in a good area. and one last question. how easy is it to get home at night say about 2 or 3 am after a bit of clubbing. how much will the taxis charge to get back to your hotel at this time?

thanks

seán

Try this website: www.prague-life.com
details of clubs/bars and accommodation from hostel to 4 star hotel. Also information such as taxi numbers, etc. I booked hotel and transfers from airport through prague life a couple of years ago and they were great.
Hope this helps.

I can only give my input on the taxi fare. We were there last year, and taxi fare was very inexpensive, about $3+ from the center of town to the Hilton. That's about 6 km away.

I hope this gives you an idea.

Happy traveling!

Just be careful of the unscrupulous taxi drivers who wait until you are in the car and seatbelted before they tell you that the trip is going to cost some exorbitant amount of money. Make sure that you insist on them using the meter for trips home from the clubs. Prague taxi drivers unfortunately have a bad name in this regard, but they're not all bad, not by a long shot. See my tip on my Czech Republic page.

Naked peeing men

by prettyjean

Yesterday I was wondering around at the small lanes at the foot of Charles' Bridge on the opposite side of the old town. When I turned my back, I saw these 2 hilarious peeing status.

This is why I like to walk around in small lanes off the beaten path, you will always have surprises!

This is what I brought...

Jubilee Synagogue

by Sagespot

The Jubilee Synagogue was a wonderful find on our walk to the train station. This synagogue is the newest and largest Jewish religious building in Prague. The outside is a colorful Moorish facade which dates to 1906.

Of particular note are the donors names on the stained glass windows and the huge organ above the main entrance.

Letna Park Views

by sandysmith

Better than the metronome on top on Letna Park is the views you have over Prague. In particular the views of the bridges makes it wothwhile ascending the many steps.
It was a bit overcast when we were up here but the pic gives you a general idea of the view to be had.
