Ambassador was a nice hotel, excellently situated (middle of Vaclavske Namesti ).
Breakfast was very good, staff were all friendly. BUT the price was high for what the hotel offers (eg no gym) - although it has a 5-star rating, 4 stars would be more appropriate.
Unique Quality: More or less part of the hotel are the Ambassador casino (open 24x7) and the Goldfingers strip bar (said to be Prague's most upscale)

Unique Quality: Nice and helpful staff, beautiful unique rooms, delicious food in the restaurants. The hotel is also situated in the main street, so it's easy to walk around.

At that time (1985) Hotel Ambassador was the best hotel in Prague, but the prices were not comparative to Western ones. There also poor Finnish people could enjoy from luxury with small amount of money. And feel themself as sheik. I had tournedos.
I am looking for some good and inexpensive non-touristy restaurants ... we are staying at the AMBASSADOR ZLATA HUSA ... any good advice out there???
Nice and helpful staff, beautiful unique rooms, delicious food in the restaurants. The hotel is also situated in the main street, so it's easy to walk around.
