A safe bet in central Prague

Boyf and I stayed in this hotel over Christmas 2004. The room was relatively basic, kind of 1970's chic, in that Brown/Beige Czech/Slovak way.

The rooms have shower rather than bath, also tiled in brown!

A nice enough room, unfortunately no kettle which would have made it that little bit better. The tv was also broken for the first day or so, but as soon as I told the reception they were immediately onto it.

Also really useful is that this place has a computer in the lobby with free internet access.

Unique Quality: Central location makes it a good bet. At three stars it's not luxury, but it's certainly not slumming it either.

Free internet access in the lobby.

More about Hotel Atlantic Prague

nice and good location

by TripAdvisor Member zirafka

Because the hotel Anna was fully booked we were suggested to stay in other small charming hotel and we were quite surprised with the quality of the hotel, room size and cleanliness. Staff at the front desk were nice and helpfull with finding the cultural programme as well as arranging the lost property during our flight. The lobby bar was really cheerful with very competitive prices. Our stay was very pleasant and the hotel made our trip more aggreeable, we were immpressed by Prague historical monuments which are just few steps from this property. We will recommend this hotel to our friends and we will definitely come back again.

great location

by A TripAdvisor Member

Went to Prague to celebrate my husbands 40th and we were not dissapoited with the city. Arrived at the Atlantia to a rather cold room (snow and -7 degrees) but before we had our coats off a porter came with a bottle of champagne and an apology from the management. The heating had broken down but they were trying to fix it. We went for a walk to get our bearings and found we were only a few mins from the old town and shops. On return to the hotel it was still cold so we were given a heater which we didn't need the next day as the heating had been fixed. We had a big, quiet room. The breakfast was ok but they don't do good cooked breakfast!! We had bought a 3 day transport ticket from the airport but didn't really need it but used it on lazy days!! Transport links very good, only stopped once to have tickets checked. The whole of Prague was very clean and everyone we met were very friendly. Cheap food and drink if you don't eat to close to the castle. Good Blues and Jazz clubs. Would go back and recommend this hotel for its good location and friendly staff.

I'd defy anyone to get a better base ...

I've just returned from a weekend in Prague with 18 of my work colleagues and we stayed at the Atlantic Hotel.

The hotel is central and within walking distance of the main sights. I booked this hotel, return airport transport and a Czech restaurant for the Saturday night through the most wonderful, helpful company [------------].

We required 1 quad room, 3 triples and 3 twins and the hotel went out of its way to accommodate us with our exact requirements. The rooms were large and the quad room was large enough to hold a ball! Cleanliness was first class and the service offered by the front desk was superb. We checked in our large group in record time and out of 19 people, no-one had any complaints about any aspect of our hotel.

Breakfast was the typical one we have come to expect throughout Europe with bacon, eggs, sausage provided alongside breads, croissants, danish pastries, yoghurt and fresh fruit. There was something there for everyone!

We were all so impressed with every aspect of the hotel that many of us plan on returning to Prague with our families and we're all planning on going back to the Atlantic!

The excellent reviews on this site are nothing but the truth!

A warm welcome

by A TripAdvisor Member

The Atlantic does a slightly shabby 70s feel to its decor - though they were renovating the reception hall when I was there earlier this week. But they offer a great welcome, and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Pros: generous sized rooms; no sense of crowdedness; well placed in Stare Mesto, 10 minutes' walk from the Old Town Square/ Tyn area, and within yards of the estimable Imperial coffee house (a not-to-miss visit!) and of a good department store; very friendly and attentive, but they know how to let you be, too; internet point and room safe; good, large, firm beds; rooms and public areas well heated but not stiflingly so. Cons: duvets are too small for a six-footer, and we had to ask for another to provide good warmth and coverage, but they obliged rapidly and helpfully; breakfast in the attached restaurant is a bit unimaginative - but there is plenty of it, buffet-style; the musak over breakfast is a bit intrusive, but you can ask for it to be turned down, and this issue seems to be ubiquitous in Prague restaurants anyway. Not perhaps a place to stay if you like the Ritz - but I prefer my hotels a little more simple and less up-market! Many more pros than cons to this hotel - I'll certainly stay there again on my next visit.

Sofa Beds....?

by A TripAdvisor Member

If you are ok with sofa style beds and duvets that don't fit the length of the sofa you are expected to believe is a bed, with curtains that don't fully close and staff that are at best brusque and breakfast that is pitiful and not worth bothering with then this may be the hotel for you!

The room was clean and the hotel was located in an accessible part of town but the noise from the street flooded into your room fairly early in the morning. Overall, wouldn't recommend.

The pictures on expedia show a different hotel as well.

Exclusive stay in Atlantic hotel in Prague

by A TripAdvisor Member

Stayed at the Atlantic hotel to celebrate my wifes birthday. Stayed in room 301 which are quite large and very comfortable, and overlook the main street. Had a lovely evening in Havana lobby bar. This as to be seen to be believed fantastic architecture. and provides an excellent ambience. Our gratitude extends to all staff for their friendliness and being so helpful.

Very pleasant

by A TripAdvisor Member

Had a lovely few days in Prague in late March. Booked this hotel on the basis of location and reviews. Wasn't disappointed. Location - excellent, short walk from Old Town Square and dead handy for the 90k each way Airport Minibus.

Rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfasts were varied and tasty.

Nice wee bar as well which was not expensive.

Haven't given 10 out of 10 simply because the Hotel is located on a street which is a main tram route which, if you're not used to city noises, can disturb early morning sleeps.
