See Charles bridge with its great statues, make sure you have some book which explains what you are looking at, it makes it much more interesting. We had the 'Rough guide to Prague' and we each took turns reading out the history on the various statues on the bridge as we went along. It was good fun and at least we knew who we were looking at! The blues club we found on our first night, there was a pretty decent band and it was held in an upstairs room. It was intimate and unpretensious. They had a bar which had among other things a beer called 'Death' I think?, it had a pretty high alcohol content but I couldn't drink it, my friend Pat had a few though (Brave soul).

Actually all over Prague there are numerous cathedrals, or churches. I imagine that if people would put as much effort into learing about their fellow man as they have put into these structures, then we would have peace today.

People are very polite. No one high pressures you to buy (what a pleasure!). Prices are very favorable to US citizens, tipping is frequently included as a service charge in the bill. You need to ascertain whether or not this is so and tip accordingly.

A Prague walk from a unique perspective! Prague is not only shiny architecture and its habitants were not always the most reputable characters... Hear about some of Prague's legendary spirits while wandering through the hidden alleys and passageways of the Old Town.
German Embassy
by sandysmith
As mentioned before Mala Strana is home to so many embassies in very ornate buildings but the most elaborate is the Geman one at 19 Vlasska (Italian Street) Notice the lovely formal gardens laid out at the rear. You can peep at them through the courtyard but for a better view carry on up the street - past the embassy and into a small park where there is an entrance to a lane alongside Petrin Hill which runs alongside the back of the embassy. The beautiful rear facade of the building can also be seen as well as a historical piece of artwork - see next tip.
