Don't Rush It!
by Zandra
Prague has so many sights and wonderful places... There's really no point of rushing from one attraction to the next. You still won't be able to see everything; not in two, three or four days, not even in a week. Take your time; walk around to get an impression of the city, sit down and have a coffee or one of the famous Czech beers; enjoy being in one of Europe's most beautiful cities, a city with such an interesting history and great architecture! Pick out a few sights you really want to see, and then go back to see some more another time! That's at least what I intend to do! Besides, I've heard that Prague is a beautiful city during all four seasons... and I'm convinced after having looked at so many other VT-members' Prague pages...
Orloj Clock-2
by bugulma
The bell tolls every hour during a day. Then doors open and 12 Apostles run around. On the clock 4 figures, including death, move. In 1945 the bomb destroyed the figures on the clock and later they all were renovated. On the picture you see the figures of Apostles as inside view.
Drink Local Beer
by BMer
There's so many of them. Make sure you try most of them. They're all great. Pilsner Urquell, Staropramen, etc. I can't remember all of 'em (tried too many!) but I remember how to get one... "Jeden pivo prosim" (One beer, please).
Funicular Railway
by kirsty_lamb
Take the funicular railway to the top of Prgaue. It is only 20K one way, and it saves having to walk up the hill. It's also an alternitve to the trams. It's nice to see the city apprea as you move up the hill, and it takes you to a lovley garden at the top. As you walk across towards the castle area you get to view the small Eiffel Tower and there is a mirror maze and lovley views over the city and down the river with all of the bridges.
The funicular to the top of Petøín hill starts at the Újezd tram stop (trams 6, 9, 12, 20, 22, or 23) in Malá Strana and runs daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. (11:20 p.m. from November to March) in 10-15 min. intervals. To take the funicular, use the transfer public transit ticket for 20 Kè
At the Vltava
by Pieter11
When you are renting a hydrocycle, or get of the water level of the Vltava in any different way, you should really pay attention to the Stare Mesto side of the river, close to the Charles Bridge. Here you'll find countless birds having a good time in one of the few quite place in the city. Duck, gulls, coots. You'll all find them here. Special? In a big city like Prague I think it is.
