Trip to Kutná Hora or Cesky?

by vivakid

Hi all!

I would be heading to Prague in late june and was intending to take a day trip outta prague. I've heard so much nice things about Kutná Hora and Cesky that i'm in 2 minds over which to go. Any one's able to give suggestions as to which is more worthwile to go? Read about the bone church in Kutná Hora but also alot of great stuff in Kutná Hora.

THanks!!!!

Well, I seem "Cesky" it means Cesky Krumlov. If You have any chance to visit both of these places, do it! If not, and You have to choose anyway wich plase to visit, go to Cesky Krumlov. It's much more interesting (imo).

Make sure you go to the "Cesky" something you really mean. "Cesky" means nothing else but Bohemian, and after that comes the important part of the name.

I also think you mean Cesky Krumlov - and I would also go there. It is sooo beautiful.

Did not go to Cesky Krumlov but did go to Kutna Hora and it was my favorite day of 2 weeks in Prague and Krakow. Just the smaller town was probably most of it but it was beautiful and the people there were the nicest we met on that trip.

We took a day trip to Kutna Hora ( train) approx 1 hour from Prague. Enjoyed the town, an easy walk, nice buildings etc.

Travel Tips for Prague

walk over the pedestrian...

by RodeKill69

walk over the pedestrian bridge across the river. It's the bridge from Mission Impossible I. Just walking around a beautiful E. European city was enough to do it for me. The Roxy. The most insane club I've ever been and will ever go.

There are plenty of money exchange around Vaclavske Namesti. They are also agent of Moneygram and Western Union. Which mean if you are robbed off you can call your friends or families to send you money and you can get it in an hour. You still need to show your passport to validate your identity alongwith control number.

Table setting charge

by vanessadb

At most restaurants, you will be charged for a "table setting charge", meaning the table settings and the bread. This is normal, so don't think you're being robbed!

Anyway, it is a very low fee... See it as a discounted 15-20% tip we leave in the US!

And if you were happy with your service, it does not hurt to leave a few coins and let the struggling waiter/waitress know you were happy with their service =)

Petrin Mirror Labyrinth

by nhcram

The mirror labyrinth is situated in a building originally constructed by the Czech Tourist Board. It has a lovely entrance in the style of a Medieval Gate with a drawbridge. The labyrinth is a fascination for young and old. Be prepared for a laugh.
There was also an exhibition of children?s drawings when we were there.
It is next to The Petrin Tower

Daytrip to Konopištì

by Krumlovgirl

Konopiste Chateau is situated in a picturesque landscape 30 miles southeast of Prague. It is well known for its  large collection of 300,000 hunting trophies. At the end of the 19th century the castle was refurbished in the Romantic style for Franz Ferdinand d´Este, successor to the Habsburg throne, whose assassination in Sarajevo sparked WWI.
Distance: approx. 30 miles
