Excellent hotel
We have just returned from a 3 night stay here and can't speak more highly of the place. It is clean, confortable and in an excellent location in Mala Strana. You have the best of both worlds as the Charles Bridge etc is only a 15 minute stroll away but have the peace and quite of a lovely old side street.
The staff were most helpful to us on several occasions, booking restaurants, arranging a gift for 1 of our party as she was 40, also ringing our taxi when it was late returning us to the airport.
All in all an excellent choice for a few days away in Prague.

Room for 4 in 2 room apartment
About 300 m away from the Charles Bridge, this hotel was very hospitable. We made the reservation through venere.com. We booked the 2 room apartment. The futons were a little saggy but still comfortable.
A little kitchenette is in the room should you feel inspired to stay in and cook.
Unique Quality: Best breakfast I had in Europe. I normally don't like scrambled eggs but these were "fresh from the chicken" good. They also had some smoked meats/bacons.
Yogurt, fresh fruit and coffee were also available.
. . . . Prague is a beautiful city at night, all the buildings are illuminated

Elections were held in the Czech Republic in June and we found this poster glued to one of the many reycling bins in Prague.
Art Nouveau has always been an inspiration for me - ever since the first curly haired Mucha drawing. I had no idea that Prague is an INTERNATIONAL TREASURE of Art Nouveau architecture and has the most beautiful examples of Alfons MUCHA's work in the world. By the time I made it to the Mayor's Hall, in Obecini Dun, I was completely in awe.
This was my first, of what I hope to be many trips to Prague and The Czeck Republic. We climbed towers in many parts of the city, and climbed the hill to the Castle. LOTS of climbing, worth every step. This is a great city to just wander the streets without a map. Through every doorway beacons another courtyard or beer garden restaurant. Discover another small specialty store around the next corner (see reviews below).
It's also very rewarding to take day trips out of Prague to nearby towns and villages. Interesting history and beautiful architecture in towns like Kutna Hora, Karlovy Vary and Ceske Budjovice, etc. The scenery is also beautiful through the mountains on the 5 1/2 hour train ride to Berlin.

A Good American or British Breakfast?
by AnthonyNY
I have been in Prague for the first two weeks of a three month stay and the one thing that I miss most is a good American or British style breakfast. I am staying in Zizkov but would be willing to travel even to Haje for some pancakes or waffles and eggs. Thanks for any help you can provide.

We recently booked a three night stay in the Residence Mala Strana on Milnicka. Many of the hotel reviews raved about the breakfast. The phone number is 420-2-51510372. Perhaps there is a rate for non guests. Good Luck.
