Good value hotel

I stayed there during May 2008. It is a good value hotel with a great location. It is next to the IP Pavlova metro and tram station with numerous links all over town. Hotel is quiet and clean, breakfast is good nothing spectacular.

More about Hotel Tyl

Hotel Tyl in January

by TripAdvisor Member mjames9249

This is an attractive, friendly, small hotel with excellent transport links by tram, bus and underground train (Pavlova station) almost on the doorstep to one side of the square. We stayed here in early January 2006 when the weather was cold but the hotel was always warm and cosy. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful giving us directions, providing maps and advice. There is a good selection of places to eat nearby all of which were very good value for generous helpings of tasty food. The hotel is a short walk – downhill – to Wenceslas Square (about 10 mins) and the old town beyond. We caught a tram from the hotel to the Castle on the other side of the river. We felt very safe in Prague but took the precaution of not carrying handbags. For a reliable, fixed price taxi service from the airport, go to the Cedaz desk: they’ll take you to your hotel and collect you for your return.

Hotel Tyl, I'll see you again soon.

Stayed in Hotel Tyl during summer 2005. Room rate was very reasonable. The room was spacious and well-furnished, with the bathroom spotless clean. Amenities were more than sufficient, including a safe in the room. Historic-style cupboards and cabinets even come with their keys. International TV shows were entertaining, and room maids were good (think they did more than they were required). They even ironed our clothes thrown onto the bed due to the morning rush, and folded them nicely under the pillows. Everyday, the hotel guests could get a full continental English Breakfast buffet, which was very delightful with all the pastries, hams, crossiants, yougurts and juices... The other major strength of the hotel is that it has a strategic location - only 5 minutes walk to the nearest Metro Station (I.P.Pavlova Station), and 10 minutes walk to famous Wencelas Square. From Wenceslas Square, you could proceed on to visit the rest of the top attractions on foot. In the vicinity of the hotel, you can also find fast food restaurants and mini-marts, so you will never have to go hungry.

I shall look forward to seeing you again, Hotel Tyl.

Tyl we meet again

We stayed at the hotel in January 2006 and found the hotel to be excellent value for money. The rooms were of a good size, warm and nicely furnished. The hotel itself was well presented and very clean.

Breakfast was continental style with a good selections of breads, cheeses, meats and cereals.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a very good location not far from the metro station IP Pavlova, and about 10 minutes walk from wenceslas Square.

Prague is a beautiful city and I would love to visit it again - maybe in the summer when it is a bit warmer. If I do go back, I will definitely book to stay at the Hotel Tyl.

Wonderful City and Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member EdwardPrend

My wife and I have just returned from a three night stay at this hotel. The Hotel Tyl lived up to the comments of previous guests. First rate position, with all amenities on your doorstep. Housekeeping excellent throughout hotel. Plentiful selection for breakfast, with constant replenishment of food. Good restaurants in the area with particular mention for the Radost FX (across the road from hotel) which serves the best vegetarian food in Prague (but keep it a secret as it can get busy). City and hotel most highly recommended with finest transport links I have experienced.

GREAT TIME IN PRAGUE

by A TripAdvisor Member

Had a brilliant time in Prague staying at the hotel Tyl last weekend.
The hotel had very helpful & English speaking staff.
Our room was very large and clean for a 3 star establishment.
Contacted the hotel for a bottle of champagne & chocolates for our arrival and was not disappointed with the service or cost.
Would highly recommend this hotel for location (only 15 minutes walk to Wenceslas Square) and service.

mini -break christmas

by A TripAdvisor Member

My wife and i stayed at the Tyl from boxing day to the 29th dec . A great choice , hotel spotless, rooms spacious and warm . Hotel reception and overall service great . Breakfast plentiful and would reccomend this hotel to anyone considering a break in Prague, central to all the sights and would not hesitate on returning in the future.

Great Hotel!

by TripAdvisor Member sand_200

Stayed at the Tyl for a few days just before Christmas and had a great stay!

The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. It snowed every day that we were there but the hotel was always nice and warm. It's also in a great location - next to trams and the metro and just five mins walk from Wenceslas Square.

The staff were really helpful and were able to order us a taxi to the airport for 650Kcs - cheaper than the taxi coming into town.

Not a big fan of continental breakfasts myself so would say that they should offer hot food. But there was always plenty of food at breakfast.

A warm and welcoming stay

by TripAdvisor Member SPIH

Arrived in Prague on 13 Dec 05 for a short city break. The receptionist was welcoming and informative. The hotel is spotlessly clean, warm and extremely comfortable. The rooms are tastefully furnished in keeping with the period of the hotel, which itself is ideally located a short walk from the top of Wenceslas Square. Tram amd Metro routes are close - getting around Prague is so easy. A beautiful city, something for everybody. Exceptional value hotel, polite and helpful staff; lovely continental breakfast. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We plan a return trip in the summer and we will have no hestitation in returning to the Tyl, or indeed recommending it to friends.

A: "You validate it once and then it is good for the 24/72 hours on all public transport whether metro, bus or tram."
