Prague Airport Name please help ?????
by eastrunner
Hi,
We are flying on Wizz air from Brussels to Prague
I'm trying to give the hotel taxi the pickup instructions, however not able to find the airport name. The tickets do not have the info, Wizz air website dosen't have so need your help.
The Prague air port website dosen't have Wizz listed, under airlines
http://www.pragueairport.co.uk/airlines-airport.htm
On google I'm seeing more than 1 airport in Prague??
Thanks
ER

It is indeed Prague International Airport, the main one. The website you noted is not the official airport website--since Wizz only started flights to Prague a few months ago, it's probably not been updated yet. The official website (http://www.csl.cz/en/site/informace_o_letech/destinace_aerolinky/aerolinky.htm) does list Wizz as a carrier.

The main airport is Prague Ruzyne international.
I would be very surprised if this is not the airport which Whizzair uses but, as you note, and their website seems to have missed off Prague from its list of destinations (whihc is a bit odd).

On google you see also airports used by military and aviation factories - these are not used by regular passenger carriers. The site you mentioned lists also already bankrupt airlines not flying more than 6 months. As mentioned above Wizzair just started flights to/from Prague.
The only international Prague airport is Ruzyne airport www.prg.aero.

Travel Tips for Prague
Prague Tip

A must is to spend time at any hour of the day or night on the St Charles Bridge - particularly so now before it crumbles away - there's quite a bit of curent controversy on restoring it or not whether it is in fact decaying away or not. Don't forget Franz Kafka's house on the walk down from the Palace. And the local 'champagne' isn't too bad considering the price. If you want to dine out at a slightly more salubrious establishment, you've got to book ahead. Of course, one can never forget the 20th century history of Prague - there are still many bullet holes forever etched into many of the city's buildings, and the central square will always be a reminder of those who fought and died for freedom.

The Good Soldier Svejk
by M0B1US
The story of this quirky character is one of the Czech republic's favourite literary creations and a European classic, firmly ensconced in the complete list of titles in "The New York Public Library's 100 Best Books of the 20th Century".
Written by Jaroslav Hasek, a comic genius, it is essentially an anti-war story with the 'message that war is not merely cruel, unjust and obscene but ludicrous' Sunday Times. Especially so considering that the subject matter is the First World War...
It is a classic novel of the 'little man' fighting officialdom and bureaucracy with the only weapons available to him - passive resistance, subterfuge, native wit and dumb insolence. A good comtemporary comparison would be Catch 22, so if you fancy reading a book by one of the Czech Republic's best authors about one of the Czech Republic's favourite characters and having a bloody good laugh as well - why not 'czech' it out!
Furthermore you can try and follow the 'Svejk Trail' around Prague, including the touristy restaurant 'U Kalicha' (The Goblet)...

Zizkov Tower
by Rachael71
We saw this on a travel programme just before we visited Prague, otherwise we might have missed it altogether, even though it dominates the skyline of the city. The Zizkov Tower was built in the 1980s to stop TV pictures coming from the West. Now it houses a panoramic restaurant with great views over Prague, a great spot for a coffee.
And if you need further reason to visit it - statues of alien babies climb all over the tower. You won't find them anywhere else in Prague!
Caves
by ettenaj
The Koneprusy stalactite caves were not discovered until 1950. The caves with bizarre shapes formed by the growth of stalactites and stalagmites are connected with the limestone formations of the Bohemian karst ( Cesky kras ) and are the largest in the country. Human and animal remains were uncovered when excavation work was in progress. The work shops of 15th century forgers have been rebuilt and are well worth a visit. Location 19 miles southwest of Prague

Q: Prague public transportation "Hello VT;
I'm so confused how the 1 day or 3 days pass works. It says that you have to validate the pass/ticket before..."
A: "You validate it once and then it is good for the 24/72 hours on all public transport whether metro, bus or tram."
