We had a most enjoyable stay during our 7 day visit, our room was superior to 4 star hotels we stayed in during our 9 week European adventure. This accommodation is sometimes listed on the internet as Hotel St John. It was newly opened in August 2003 and is in the original rectory of the Church of the St.John On the Rock near Charles Square. Our room was very impressive, on the first floor, and was in first class condition, a good bed, table with 2 chairs and another large single bed which could be used as a lounge, the bathroom was large and in good condition. Our room was very clean and all common areas of the building were spotless. The room was exceptionally large, approximately 5 metres x 6 metres and 4 metre high ceiling, no airconditioning but there were 3 huge windows, a new TV with CNN and BBC,no tea or coffee making facilities or refrigerator. However at reception there was a modern coffee making machine similar to those in cafes where you could order tea and coffee at cheap prices. Reception also had chilled wine and beer at reasonable prices.
There was a good European breakfast included and the bonus was a two slice toaster.
Would recommend this 14 room Hotel/ Pension to anyone.
All forms of public transport are nearby with the tram running past the door, 300 metres walk to the underground (Karlovo namesti) and there are 11 different trams within the same distance.
