Hotel IBIS Praha Karlín.
Very comfortable *** hotel not far from the centre, easily reached by underground (100m from Križíkova station) or by tram (50m from Urxova station).

GOOD VALUE HOTEL
This was my 5th vist to prague and another new hotel the ibis karlin was a lot nicer than i expected with large clean rooms even a little balcony which is standing room only. the staff were frendily and the decor nice,the hotel although a little outside the center is very well concted with trams stop just over the road and the metro station,krizikova,is a 3 mins walk from the hotel so within a few mins you are in the centre,the breakfast in the hotel was the normal bread cake cheese ect not hot food but was enough all the same.
This is a good hotel for the money.
Unique Quality: large bedrooms,handy for public transport.

A 3-star hotel near the city
Internet is free - you can use your laptop or go to their business centre. The hotel provides Dove and Lux products in the bathroom. There is a safe in the room which has a key (no code). No hair dryer but I suppose you can borrow one from the reception. Breakfast is okay but not impressive. Like all Ibis hotels that I have visited, this hotel is very clean.
Unique Quality: The staff are very nice. What I liked most about this hotel is that it is the only Ibis I have visited so far that has a bar which sells cocktails like Mojito. Really cool. Check-out is 1 p.m. (but check with them if this applies to everyone). You may store your luggage if your departure is after your check-out.

Affordable accommodation in Prague
I stayed three nights in Ibis Praha Karlín hotel in June 2008. Rooms are spacious (some with balcony) and clean and have tv:s and safe deposit boxes. Separate rooms for toilet and bathroom. No efficient air-conditioning. Breakfast is good and includes several delicacies.
The location of the hotel is not in the centre of Prague but is close to a metro station Křižíkova
and a tram stop.

Prague - What's to see?!
I'm getting into Prague on the 30 of December and I will stay in Czeck Republik until the 4th of January.
First of all, I'll be staying at the Ibis Karlin, what do you know about this hotel? How do I get from the airport to the hotel? I would prefer a taxi. How much does it costs?
What is to see in this period of the year?
I was thinking maybe i can get to Karlovy Vary or some place outside Prague, what do you recomand and how much it costs?

You can get to central Praha from the airport by public transportation nearly as fast as buy taxi. The Metro ( underground trains ) make much better time than taxis always being stalled in traffic. If you insist on a taxi, make sure the driver gives you a firm price. If not you may be charged a fortune.
Train and bus travel throughout Chechia is cheap. Better than Karlovy Vary are Cesky Krumolv / Ceske Budejovice, Kutna Hora, and Plsen. This time of year a Czech Hockey match is a good option.

i am from Plzen (eng. Pilsen) and its really nice destination for visit. Especially for nightlife coz u can find there many cool places with many foreigns and english-speaking people and its not as expensive as Prague. U can take a train from Prague to Pilsen its about 6 USD. If u are interested to, let me know i can give u more info. Take care Berdaa
