New hotel near Wenceslas Square
For our last two nights in Prague we stayed at the Hotel Amarilis Jerome, another new hotel in Prague. We paid 100E per night through www.booking.com for a double room. The hotel was a 5-10 minute walk from the Muzeum metro stop and Wenceslas Square, a bit uphill when traveling from Wenceslas Square.
A nice buffet breakfast is included in the rate, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, meat, cheese, cereal, bread, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. When we left early on Sunday, they packed us a nice breakfast to take with us to the airport. We used them to arrange a taxi to the airport for 590kc, slightly more that what we would have likely paid but it was convenient and I could put it on my credit card.
Unique Quality: Room-very spacious, modern decor, comfortable beds, air conditioning, no view to speak of from our 2nd floor room but also no outside noise, in room safe, minibar with a refrigerator where you could store a few small things, satellite TV.
Bathroom-shower and tub, the shower head was on the long wall of the shower so even with the shower door the floor got soaked. No real toiletries, there was packets of shampoo but not what I'd expect at a 4* hotel. There was a hair dryer.
I liked this hotel slightly better than Hotel Christie, the staff was a bit nicer, they didn't overcharge us for a taxi and it wasn't so new that they had issues like missing shower curtains.

Great Prague Hotel!
Jerome House is a great hotel in Prague. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the breakfasts are good. It is very centrally located in Prague.

Great accomodation in Prague
Me and my girlfriend were in Prague for the New Year's eve 2004/05... We get a room at the top floor, under the roof. It was one of the best accomodation I ever had, if you are concerning price and the hotels range! Woul'd recomend it to enyone! Very nice place, nice staff, perfect location near the city center! Just great!
Unique Quality: It's a reconstructed, Mediaeval age building situated in a very quiet street.They don't have a pool but, when you are in such a beautifull city like Prague you will not need enything else to make your trip better - the city with all his atractions will do the job!

Close to everything
This modern and comfortable hotel is located close to Wencelas square. The building originates from the late Mediaeval ages, but it was renovated and turned into a hotel in 1999.
I stayed there in 2001 in a double room, which was very well equipped and comfortable. The staff is kind.

I have a few questions:
1. What weather can I expect in Prague in the middle of May?
2. I belive that the CZECH Republic has not gone over to the Euro yet, am I correct?
3. Is it better to bring travellers cheques or use ATM's in case I run out of Money?
4. Where is the best place to buy Absinth in Prague?
5. Anyone know what the Jerome House Hotel is like?

Hi
Not sure about May weather but should be getting warmer, we were there last Sept , still have their own currency but no problems changing money, plenty of money changers, ATM machines and banks. Good Luck, Mikebb

Hi,
You can buy Absinth in the suppermarkets in Prague or at the airport. If you like another strong spirit try the Slivovice plum brandy.

They go to the Euro in 2009. Tesco will take Euro notes and give change in Kc.
