Stayed for a week in July 07 and really enjoyed it. Hotel's very well situated on a quiet street near the Old Town Square. Very clean, in a historic building with character.
We had our breakfast in a pleasant outside courtyard with a fountain. Breakfast is buffet style and includes some interesting dishes, fresh fruit and pastries. The sauna is very nice, there is a per person charge to use it.
I would recommend this hotel to someone who's looking for a clean, safe and central location that has some local charm.

Hotel in Prague
We stayed in BW Meteor Plaza for 3 nights (Jul 13 -15, 2008), & made a reservation for a room for 2 persons via their internet website. We got a really good deal, considering it was summer & peak season. The place was walking distance to the Old Town & other major tourist attractions. The room was very comfortable, with all the amenities they mentioned in their website. What was really great was that they provided free internet in their business room from 1 to 11 pm. The food they serve for breakfast was great with pastries, breads, yogurt, wide selection of cheese, ham and fruits.
The reception staff spoke English, and readily answered any questions we had from tours to places to eat.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Unique Quality: It was close to tourist areas, but located in a quiet street far from the crowds. The free internet was also great!
Opinion of Price: more expensive than average

Good professional accomodation
Stayed here for four nights. It's very near the Powder Tower and on walking distance of the Old Town Square. Rooms are clean and breakfast is OK. It's a "clean" hotel, you don't get an individual service but the staff is very friendly and polite. The wireless internet connection was troublesome. It worked at night (when no-one else was probably using it). During evening and morning it was almost impossible to get a decent connection.

A great stay in Prague
The Meteor Plaza is a great place to stay in Prague. This is a very nice hotel that is not too expensive. The rooms are of good size, clean, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is located in Prague's old town, so parking can be difficult any where, but the hotel does offer some parking. But once your car is parked, you can walk easily any where in town.

Central hotel with value for money
This was a good, mid-priced choice, close to the Powder Tower so only 10 minute walk to the Old Town Square and less to Wencleslas Square.
Unique Quality: Nice rooms, very clean and good air conditioning. The breakfast was OK but the courtyard in which you can eat was beautiful (if you're lucky enough to get a table there).
Overall, it was a very nice stay. Free internet in the afternoon- ask at reception.
The bar is expensive though- look a bit further afield.

Good base for a trip to Prague
The Meteor Plaza is in a quiet location close to the Powder Tower and the Municipal Hall. It is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is buffet style, with a choice of continental or cooked food. If the weather is fine, there is a pleasant courtyard in which to eat, but this does get fairly busy and tables may fill up. There is a more formal restaurant in the cellar which opens in the evening (we didn't eat there so can't comment on it, but the menu looked tempting.) The service was good, and the staff very friendly.
After reading certain reviews of this hotel I am left wondering if these people go about life complaining about everything. We arrived at the hotel far too early but was allowed into our room. The receptionist was very helpful and arranged a tour for us the following day where the guide picked us up from the door.
We were pleasantly surprised to find a big bright room with loads of storage space for our clothes and a huge tv. The room was clean and spotless with a great power shower. As for the breakfast we couldnt really ask for anything more. A huge variety of items including bacon and eggs! There was even chocolate eclairs as well as a massive choice of fresh fruit.
The hotel is centrally located but on a quiet street. Our room looked out to the front and we had no problem with noise.
The Powder Gate is on your doorstep. A five minute walk from the Old Town Square and if the mini bar is too pricey there is a supermarket round the corner where you can pick up a bottle of wine for £1.50!
We came straight home and booked again for the summer. A great hotel and recommended to anyone. Even those who have stayed in 4* hotels in the past!
Meteor was fine

Our party of 3 couples stayed for 4 nights last week, the rooms were fine and cleaning good. Two people in the party had birthday's during our stay each was left a half bottle of the local bubbly with glasses in the room nice surprise for them. The location was excellent did not have to use any public transport to visit the sites. The staff were fine and any requests we made to the staff received instant attention. The little deli shop next door was a real surprise(the bar in the back room). Lastly the breakfast buffet was excellent something for everyone.

Stayed in the Meteor Plaza for four nights from Feb 14th 2005. Found the rooms very comfortable. The beds had only one pillow, but additional pillows were provided as soon as requested. The temperature outside was below zero for the duration of my stay, but the rooms were always toastie warm. The location of the hotel was excellent, minutes from the Old Town Square and several top purveyors of fine ales. An excellent hotel in an excellent city!!!

Transportation from airport to Best Western Hotel Meteor Plaza
by 10mikseg
I will be traveling with my mother (80+ yrs.) to Prague.
Can anyone tell me how to get from the airport to Best Western Hotel Meteor Plaza (http://www.booking.com/hotel/cz/hotelmeteor.html?aid=304142) by public transportation? Is there a lot of walking? Stairs? Is it worth the savings (the hotel offered a transfer for 30 Euro). Any suggestions will be most appreciated.
Has anyone stayed at this hotel? It looked good in tripadvisor. Is there anything I should know before going there?
Thank you.

your hotel is conveniently located just a five to seven minute walk from the old town square and very near the old section of town. the closest subway is namesty republica which is the station we used on our visit, staying at a nearby hotel.
however coming from the airport will require the 119 bus to the a line metro, and then a transfer to the c line to get to your stop. not sure your mother will appreciate this. escalators are fast and narrow, some stairs involved.
a taxi at the airport direct to your hotel will be less than thirty eu. even cheaper is the cedaz shared van service which has a kiosk right in the baggage claim area and will also take you directly to your hotel entrance even though you may not be the first person dropped off. we used cedaz and were pleased with the cost effectiveness.

I would agree.
Getting the bus to Devjika and then the Metro by myself was extremely easy, but I would not think is appropriate for your mother after a flight and with luggage.
Take a taxi or the service mentioned above.
Then enjoy using the trams to get around the city. :-)

When we stayed in 2007, we bought a return transfer with this firm and were delighted.
It was obviously more expensive than a bus/tram but we reckon on having at least an extra half-day in prague because the service was so good.
The driver waits even if your flight is delayed, you are driven door-to-door, and given assistance with luggage.
The return journey is sorted-out with you to suit your collection time/departure time.
When we travelled, it took about 20 minutes door-to-door
Well worth the extra in my opinion.
Q:Prague public transportation "Hello VT;
I'm so confused how the 1 day or 3 days pass works. It says that you have to validate the pass/ticket before..."
A: "You validate it once and then it is good for the 24/72 hours on all public transport whether metro, bus or tram."
