Great apartment price for the location and service

We selected this place because of location and all the very important criteria it met. It had laundry, dishwasher, all kitchen items needed (including soap). I was satisfied with comfort overall. The bar next door got a bit noisy but didnt lose too much sleep over this. It was a great holiday place for the price. No daily clean up but we prefer it that way.

Unique Quality: Quiet building, driver picked us up from airport and took to apartment. Great service for little cost!

Alternative to hotels in Prague

Why not spend your holiday in spacious apartments in the historical centre of Prague? You can take your family, your friends or grandparents. You can be alone or there can be six of you comfortably living together. Not talking about the amount of money you save on accommodation here that you can spend on restaurants or anything else you lay your eyes on. Isn't it better than a small hotel room with nosy receptionist? And think of all the historically and culturally remarkable places, restaurants, bars and shops! They will be lying at your feet, all you need to do is open the door of your apartment and dive into the whirl of the city...

Unique Quality: The apartments are fully equipped with a large bathroom, kitchen where you find everything for cooking on your own and TV, stereo, ironing board ... Of course, staying in such an apartment doesn't mean that you have to be cooking whole morning and then afternoon - there are plenty fabulous restaurants to eat at just around the corner! Neither you have to stay 'home' watching TV - go try that hip bar just near by! And ironing? You don't have to do even that if you don't want to ... But you CAN! The possibility exists! Something you would have at a hotel by NO means.

Paying Accomodation in Advance

by GlobeTreckingCanuck

Hi,

Okay, maybe I have read far too much information about scams in Prague and now I am too paranoid.

Is it an acceptable practice to pay the total amount for accomodation I have not seen in person? Apparently, the apartment company I have rented from (old town apartments) has asked me to pick up the keys ( in a different location in Prague than where I am staying) and pay the total amount for seven days accomodation before seeing the apartment in person. Is this unusual?

Thanks,

Kate

Not very wise, there are some places that are not very good, if they are good they should have no problem with you seeing them before you pay.

I usually leave a deposit and then pay on departure.

All on a c .card with low total £

Dear Kate

If the Old Town Apartments you are staying with are the same as the one we have used then you should have no problem. www.praguehotels.com??

If you don't arrange their airport transfers you go to their office to pick the keys up. If there are a few of you the airport transfer with them is quick and reliable and not too expensive (I can understand if you are on your own that you may not want to)

They then take you directly to your apartment

Have you looked on their website? We have stayed in2 of their apartments and the pictures are exactly the same and we have had no problems. Do you know which one you are booking?

We have always done a credit card reservation and then paid on arrival at the apartment

Why not drop them an email - I have always found them friendly and helpful and the apartments great

Sorry wrong website - should be

www.warsawshotel.com

If it is these people then I have looked at their FAQs and it does say you pay once you are happy with the apartment

I would recommend them

A lot of times they have a central office, like a leasing/realty company would that holds all the keys.

Hold onto your cash and don't pay out a penny until you've seen the place and it is up to your satisfaction.

Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for your helpful responses. I cancelled my reservation with the apartment organization as it was a considerable amount of money to pay up front and instead reserved a room at a reasonable pension (U Medvidku). Hopefully this will work out.

A: "You validate it once and then it is good for the 24/72 hours on all public transport whether metro, bus or tram."
