Pruhonice Park.
Pruhonice Park. Located about 3km from Opatov Metro station. Reachable by bus or bike from Opatov. Huge formerly private estate now open to the public. Costs a ridiculous 50 pence to get into this 10 square km piece of landscaped garden. Ideal place for picnics and bike rides. Has a rose garden at the entry and inside is filled with giant rhodedendrons of all colours flowering in spring/summer. Three hotels in town are all 3* The Tulipan, The Park Hotel and The Magnolia. Well worth a day in the Park. The restaurant in the Magnolia Hotel serves a good selection of Czech Food and is the best of the three. If you are driving, the car park attached to the park is 10kc per hour and if it gets full they open another area. The parking area by the Magnolia Hotel is half 'Reserve' and half 'meter'. The meter section is Monday to Sunday. (Best to leave your car in the car park). The website lists public transport options i.e. bus routee.
