 | Prague Pension Beta Prague Reviews | 1 - 2 of 2 | |
Katrina in Hotel Beta, Prague by orlikins We stayed in Hotel Beta in 1999, it's out in the southern suburbs of Prague. It was fine, staff spoke german & some english. However we did find it a bit inconvienent at nighttime, as there were no metro running during the night, so that limited our social life to a certain extent. Theme: HotelComparison: less expensive than averageDirections: From the city centre you have to take a metro to Budijovická and then a bus across the road from the station.Website: http://www.welcome.cz/h_beta.html

Simply perfect for what I was looking for. Service was great, the shared bathrooms were clean and breakfast (included) offered a wide range of things to eat and drink. It's not the most chic place in the city, which is perfect to me, but it means there's no internet or TV. Its location isn't bad, it's only 10 minutes far from the Charles Bridge by tram (number 18), and some night trams go there from Karlovo Namestí. The tram stop is in front of the hostel. There's some kind of motorway passing quite near, so to some people it could seem like it's a noisy place, but to be honest, if it was noisy I didn't even realize. If you are in Prague to see the city this is a perfect place.
There's no curfew, this means there's someone in the reception for the whole night, and I think it's a family business, so in case you have any problems there's actually somebody you can go to. It's in a zone where only Czech people live, so after seeing tourists all day it is interesting to meet a few locals. As I have already said it's very well communicated with the city centre.
