sit on the charles bridge...
by stubbeelo
sit on the charles bridge during a snowstorm and look at the castle after the sun goes down. You should probably play video poker at a random bar in Ziskov for at least six hours as well. Don't forget to drink. watching Havel dance.
Powder Tower
by yooperprof
The original medieval tower located on this site was used as a laboratory by 16th century alchemists such as Edward Kelley and John Dee, both of whom were attracted to the mystical Prague of Rudolf II. Those warlike Swedes used the warehouse as an ammunition dump during the Thirty Years War, and it blew up. The current structure is a 17th century restoration, and features an interesting museum highlighting some of Rudolf's various interests.
Watch Death Mark The Time
by zrim
"The bell doth toll for him that thinks it doth; and though it intermit again, yet from that minute that this occasion wrought upon him, he is united to God.
Who casts not up his eye to the sun when it rises? but who takes off his eye from a comet when that breaks out? Who bends not his ear to any bell which upon any occasion rings? but who can remove it from that bell which is passing a piece of himself out of this world? No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."
John Donne
Relax in the park

In the suburb of Hostivar there is a nice park with a reservoir/lake in the middle. this is a perfect area for walking, cycling, swimming or picnicing. We had a barbeque here and it was a nice relaxing way to spend an evening.
Take a hike--visit the Strahov Monastery
by tiganeasca
If you would like an incomparable view of this beautiful city, take a hike! All the way up to the Strahov Monastery, 'behind' the Mala Strana. Near its grounds you will find a path leading to the 'city' side of the monastery and hillside overlooking the entire city. You will be able to see the Moldau (Vltava) as it winds its way through. For a moment, it even looks like a Tuscan hill town with the red roofs and trees, grassy areas.... (Don't forget to visit the monastery while you're up here. Fascinating place!)
