A gloomy entrance to a great pension house!

It was our first time to stay in pension house so at first we didn't know what to expect. When we got to the pension's address, we thought we got the wrong building. The entrance alley was dark and a bit creepy, and when we got to the small lift (our first time to use one of an old design) I had doubts if it still worked or could lift anything at all. But all our impressions were wiped out the minute we set foot in our apartment. It was homely and roomy, clean, well-supplied and reasonably priced for the 4 of us.

I would certainly recommend this place for a group of 4-6, especially families. Its only drawback was the nearest Metro station is about a 10 min. walk away, although there is a tram stop in front of the building.

Unique Quality: Free breakfast comes in a grocery bag filled with loaves of bread, cheeses, jams and butter spread. There is free internet access by cable. And they even gave a complimentary book about Prague!

Platan Pension

In February we paid 43$ per bed per night...was reasonable..

Unique Quality: First of all - the pension is located very central, easy to get everywhere by walk. Nice rooms and good breakfast! Also they have a studio apartment from where you have a beautiful view of Prague! The only one thing about this apartment - there isn't a cooker! and no elevator to the 5th floor:)
