Try a Prague Apatrment instead!

This is an excellent option for staying in Prague. They are actually little apartments, or in the case of the one we stayed in, the ‘London’ apartment, HUGE!

Hotel Residence Retezova

We stayed in the Madrid suite on the 2nd floor. The room is absolutely gorgeous, very clean, and even has a little kitchen, well-equipped I might add.
The hotel employees are very nice.
The only issue we had was loud people outside the hotel, coming back from a bar or what not...at all hours of the night.
It was hot, so we slept with the windows open, rather than turning on the Air Conditioning. I suppose if we turned on the A/C, we would not hear any loud talking ... or singing for that matter!

Unique Quality: From what I know about the hotel, all the rooms are very unique and named after major World Cities...Countries. There is Paris, Madrid, New York, Jerusalem, etc...

More about Residence Retezova

wonderful place to stay!!!

by TripAdvisor Member GTTLeicestershire

We have just returned from a fantastic 'mums trip' to Prague! 14th -17th March and cannot praise enough the Residence Retezova. We stayed in the huge London imperial suite for 4, complete with our own kitchen, lounge and even upstairs balcony!! All very clean. Breakfast is served in your room if you wish or downstairs in the cafe Ebel a lovely cosy coffee shop. The receptionist Barbara was wonderful and extremely helpful.
The hotel is five mins walk from old town sqare and surrounded by lots of lovely places to eat, in fact you couldn't be more central! We loved Prague, shopped and talked till we dropped and will certainly be coming back!!

Amazing home away from home!

Where do I start?!?! I am extremely picky and like nice hotels but do not like to be overcharged. This hotel and its staff exceeded our expectations. First of all, there was a misunderstanding with the booking company and our room (the Rio) was given away to someone else before they could charge our credit card. So the staff at the R.R. put us in the Berlin suite for 2 nights for the SAME price as the Rio (145 Euro) and the luxurious Paris for our last night at almost HALF price at 185 Euro! They were so nice to do this for us because after all of my research, this was the only hotel in Prague I wanted to stay at! The beautiful old building has so much character, and the rooms are so spacious! And the decor of the rooms is really nicely done- very classy and comfortable. The location is perfect, right in town where you want to be. And the wine bar nearby was such a nice treat at the end of a long day of walking...and if you go you must try the cheese fondue- it's the best! Also the Thai foot massage place is nearby for some end of the day relief which was well worth doing it for the whole hour. The people at the R.R. were so nice and even helped us with our trip to Cesky Krumlov, loaned us their map, and handled our rental car for us. We never once encountered any rude people, but rude and unhappy people get rude and unhappy responses from others, that is all I can say about those comments I have read. I have a feeling the R.R. is going to get discovered very soon, so go while you can! If you are planning a trip to Prague, I would not stay anywhere else!

Great apartment in a terrific location

by TripAdvisor Member WendyAM

We have just returned after spending two nights in the New York Suite at the Retezova. I booked after seeing the recommendations on TripAdvisor and we weren't disappointed. I've lived in smaller apartments - a hallway, shower room, bathroom, large sitting room, kitchen (though we only used the corkscrew!) and double bedroom. All stylishly furnished and very comfortable. Heating system was easily controlled, and the hot water was always hot and plentiful, the bath deep and the shower powerful. The location is great - down a no-through road, so little traffic noise, but within a few minutes walk, quite literally, of the Charles Bridge and all the other sights are easily walkable. Right next door, through reception, is a wonderful little cafe, the Ebel, which provides all you need, with plenty of other restaurants within yards to suit all palates and pockets. The reception staff there were lovely, and the room was cleaned daily. All in all, was a great place to stay, superb value for money and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

what a find!

by TripAdvisor Member lizsiboney

used trip advisor to find this 'gem' of a hotel for our first visit to this lovely city
the hotel is situated right in the middle of the old town yet it is peaceful and quiet; we were able to walk everywhere, there are lots of good restaurants nearby
we booked directly with the hotel - all the rooms are individual and are well described on the website. the staff are very friendly and helpful, arranging taxis and booking restaurants for us
we were upgraded to the madrid suite on arrival and were not disappointed - the room was so clean and tidy and the ceiling is awesome
as there is a fuly equipped kitchen in each room this hotel would be great for anyone who wants to self cater.
we had breakfast in the cafe next door which was good value
we had a great time in prague and thought the hotel was just wonderful; would recommend it to anyone.

excellent except for sleeping

by TripAdvisor Member megaquack

Our family of 5 stayed in "Roma", the most expensive apartment here. The accommodation was excellent and enormous. Good kitchen equipment for basic self catering, fridge space for Czech beer! but there is a mini bar and room service, not 24 hour, from the cafe next door. Very central, aroung the corner from the old town square and plenty of good bars and restaurants only a few seconds walk away. Worth taking a 5 minute walk to Tesco,an experience, not the same as UK. The only draw back for us was being woken ar 3 am by the people in the attic apartment above us, the original ceilings mean there is NO soundproofing and we could hear every word that was being said, it was as though they were in our room! We decided not to say anything until morning and reception were helpful and assured us that the apartment above us woud be empty for the rest of our stay but a word of warning the attic apartments are probably the places to stay here (there is a lift, except for the first flight of stairs).

Fine stay

by TripAdvisor Member Pdelis50

Stayed here as we were going to a destination wedding in April 2005 and wound up staying for 6 nights. Service was excellent, the booking of taxi cabs for trips to the train stations/airport was also prompt. The room size was fine on the first floor and was clean, It is near all of the old town ( Charles Bridge etc) and many Pubs etc within a few yards. Note that it is an apartment ( with a kitchen that we never used) Spacious, staff even gave us a fan to use.

No problems whatsoever

Great Location

by TripAdvisor Member the_cool_cat

Looking for accommodation for family trips can be a problem. This hotel or rather apartment hotel was fantastic. Even beofre we arrived at the hotel communication was great. Lots of information and suggestions. The transfer from the airport was definately well worth using. We stayed in the' Roma Suite' which comprised of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room and kitchen/dining. It virtually felt like a home away from home, with the exception of having someone downstairs to help out if needed. On arrival there was a small gift for the children in the suite. The babysitting services was great and convenient. The location was great. Overall a great hotel and location!!

We highly recommend this property

This apartment hotel is a real find in Prague. It is extremely well located in the Old Town section of the city, just a couple blocks from the square and the Charles Bridge. Although it is a bit difficult to drive to because it is on a dead end street and the many one-way streets are confusing, it is well worth the effort. If you don't arrive by car, it is not a problem as they have airport pickup service and a taxi could certainly navigate the complicated streets in Old Town. The location gives you a tranquil stay in a very busy city.
Our 2 bedroom suite was huge, well equiped, and spotless.
The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Staying at this property helped enhance a very enjoyable visit to Prague.
We highly recommend this property.
