Beer crazy guards
by sabsi
Sitting on a wall at the castle at night overlooking Prague when the guards (who aren't allowed to talk normally) started whispering 'Bsssst...PIVO!' so that we'd give them a bit of our beer. Really funny! Another funny situation was when my friend realized that he'd bought alcohol free beer because the label looked good HAHA ;-)
Places to Hang Out
by mrclay2000
In a city where tourists and citizens alike are generally on the move, Prague does offer a few places where people tend to just hang out. Groups might crowd the Old Town Square but they generally have to accept the cold cobblestones for their seat. Others swarm the Charles Bridge, but sitting there is also impossible, and making way for new swarms is inevitable. Those who wish to sit might have to go indoors and pay for their time, but some of the quieter places to vegetate and relax are along the Vltava River embankments and riverfront parks.
strange ways to ride a horse ???
by globetrott
What a strange way to ride a horse !!
I saw this great sculpture in LUCERNA - shopping-centre, and finally found out a bit about it, when I asked a question in the VT-forum.
Thanks a lot Carole (unravelau) for finding the info for me !
This nice sculpture was made by David Cerny in 1999 for the big hall inside the Post Office of Prague, but somewhow it was not accepted by the bosses there.
Still it is great to see, even the horse somehow seems to enjoy it.
That shopping-centre is in a sidestreet of Wentzel Square and Vodizkova !
All you need is magic marker

The Lennon wall is not that much off the beaten path, but it is still usually a quiet corner of the city.
The wall began spouting Lennon's poetry in the 1980's and despite copious amount of communist domestos (always washes grey with every wash) the idea stuck.
These days it's rather spoilt by the "Baz woz 'ere" and "Man U are crap" brigade adding their own erudite commentry to lifes' rich tapestry.
Still, it's worth a look if you and walking to/from Prague castle. You can find it on the road between Kampa Island and the church of our lady below the chain. Basically, just cross Charles' bridge from the town side and turn right, then right again.
Will the light go out?
by leics
It's easy to miss the light on the balcony of the house which is behind the statue of St Nicholas of Tolentino on Charles Bridge.
But best check it, because if the light goes out whilst you're passing you'll be dead within the year.
It would be good to know in advance, so you can do all the things you want to do in the time you have left!
