More about Roma Hotel Prague
Lovely Hotel, Lovely City, Lovely Holiday

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights in freezing cold February.
Our room was adequate sized, very good and clean bathroom, usual facilities. The breakfast was standard continental fare. To be honest I didn't even realise there was a hotel bar as there was so much to do in the surrounding areas. The staff were very freindly and offered lots of sightseeing and social advice. The hotel was a little out of the way (maybe 20 minutes from the Old Town and about 15 mins from Wenceslas Square) but I wouldn't want it any other way. Lovely quiet surrounds and well lit front and back.
Hotel was very handy to the castle and Charles bridge, Petrov hill and some really excellent bars and restaurants. I can only recommend the restaurant on Ostrov island (one bridge south of Charles bridge, steps down on to island). Took my girlfriend for her birthday - amazing service, stunning views over the Danube, beautiful food and cost us about £40 for 2 three course meals with a few drinks (no wine) and a generous tip. Also for drinks try Zanzibar - a little cocktail place just off to the right at the castle side of Charles bridge that plays jazz music and has a 70 page cocktail list!
A Good Hotel

My girlfriend and I visited the Roma Hotel in September 2006 and found it ideal for our needs, which were relaxation not too far from the city centre. The rooms are clean, and well maintained. The one minus point is that the walls were a little thin and we could hear our neighbours showering! The breakfast was of the continental variety and was better than we expected with a good choice. The reception and bar area is very modern with a huge fish tank built into the wall and free internet access. Although the hotel is situated a good walk from Charles Bridge and the other tourist attractions there are good (cheaper!) restaurants and bars near by. We ate in the main tourist area once, and were charged 15% for very poor service! Getting to the Roma Hotel couldn't be easier. From the airport you take the 119 bus to where it terminates and then the number 20 tram. It only costs CZE 20, much cheaper than a taxi and far more enjoyable! Surprisingly, public transport is very good in Prague. Overall, the Roma Hotel is a good clean hotel in a good location if you want a bit of peace and quiet!
Good Location- OK Hotel

We stayed her for 4 days in September. I loved the location tram right out front and a short walk to bridge. Great Bagel place close by & bakery and bar next door. Very close to several places to eat & shop
Down side- We could actually hear people using their bathrooms and not just to shower was not very nice. Walls paper thin is an understatement. Through the posts we were told to ask for a room in the back which we did yes you can not hear the tram but we heard the drunks in the apts next door every night coming home and yelling so not sure which is better. The beds we were told at booking would be 2 twins - we got in room one big bed could not even separate into twins. Luckily since it was my sis in law and me it was not to bad. The shower-tub was horrible had to hold the shower nozzle in one hand while you tried to wash with the other water everywhere in the bathroom just got to be a joke after a couple days. Also last couple days the maid did not even give us clean cups and glasses was like they no longer cared just gave you towels and thats abot it.
The breakfast was actually very nice. The had plently of things to choose from so made that part of the stay OK.
When I go back next year I will be staying at another hotel.. But I may stay in the same area as I loved the Mala Strana location
Very nice hotel

Could not fault anything. Very clean and spacious rooms. We were given an appartment by mistake, with two bedrooms and a small living area and we were allowed to stay there when the mistake was found out. The largest bedroom had a super king-size bed and the room was huge. That was actually the only room we used, because it had the tv.
The breakfast buffet was also very good, with plenty of choice for everyone and they even had scrambled eggs and frankfurter sausages.
Lovely hotel. Friendly, helpful staff

Travelled with my wife and 8 friends to celebrate my 50th birthday. Everything was great with lovely spacious rooms, friendly knowledgeable staff and the continental breakfast was great. The location was brilliant, a 10 min stroll from Charles Bridge and if you don't feel like walking the tram stops right outside.
Although tea and coffee were provided in my room, they aren't complimentary so be warned. It is also hit and miss whether you even get tea and coffee as others in our party didn't. Still these are very minor complaints and didn't impact on our stay at all.
The hotel does not provide evening meal however there is a fabulous and very reasonably priced restaurant right next door (La Bastille).
All in all it was excellent and I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Oh yes and when you walk into the reception, be sure to have a look at the shark in the fishtank. Awesome.
very good hotel

Visited this hotel last autumn.
The weather in Prague was hot, almost 25 degrees in September.
The hotel was very clean, our room was very spacious with a big bathroom. But as other people has mentioned the walls can be very thin so you here your neighboroughs. Luckily ours were quiet. The breakfast was good and the service nice.
The location is superb, if you don´t mind public transportations.
The tram stops right outside the hotel and several different tramlines goes past the hotel. To the Charles Bridge it was only 2-3 minutes by tram and if you´re walking it takes 10 minutes. If you take the tram in the other direction you´re in the centre within 10 minutes. We usually always buy a weekly transportation card whereever we go and use it almost to the maximum. You never know where you´ll end up.
We ate at twice during four days at the restaurant close to the hotel. Le Bastille. Very good food and after a long day at the city very short way to the room.
Excellent Value

Stayed first weekend in December. Ended up with new rooms on top floor (attic). Small but created to a high standard - great bathroom.
Location of hotel excellent - less than 10 minutes walk to Charles Bridge. As others have said tram also stops outside hotel.
Support others review of restaurant next door to hotel. Good food – good price
Christmas in Prague!
by TripAdvisor Member mollymurphy
Just returned from a fantastic three day trip to Prague over the Christmas holidays! We stayed at the Hotel Roma in the Mala Strana and were very happy with our choice. Hotel’s lobby, bar area (in lobby) and breakfast rooms are large and nicely decorated and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was also clean, well decorated and had internet access (we asked for a cable at the reception.)
One of the main reasons we chose the Hotel Roma was that we drove our car and needed parking which was available in the hotel’s underground garage for an extra 400 CZK per night.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the Hotel Roma is a bit off the beaten path, but we found this to be a plus, as the neighborhood was relatively quiet (our room was away from the street, which probably helped, too!) In addition, transportation to the major sights is very convenient as the tram stops directly in front of the hotel (buy a ticket at the tabac shop around the corner from the hotel) and trams run every 10 minutes or so. Walking, it’s still just 15 minutes or so to the Charles Bridge from the hotel, which was doable even in cold weather.
Christmas was a great time to visit: we took an organized walking tour of the stare mesto, jewish quarter and the castle district on the 24th. Coincidentally, Christmas Eve was the only night we had trouble booking dinner reservations, but we eventually got one...I'd book earlier than the day of if I had it to do it over again, but it wasn't a problem. Finding a restaurant on Christmas Day was no trouble at all, and many shops were open, as were Christmas markets.
The Hotel Roma is a solid choice if you are looking to stay in the Mala Strana in Prague and we would stay there again.
Great value for money hotel

We stayed in December 2006 for 4 nights on a visit to the Christmas markets and chose the Roma hotel mainly for location and cost. The location was ideal - a five minute stroll to the Charles Bridge and the cost excellent. We were however absolutely delighted to find the comfort and size of the rooms much better than we'd hoped. The hotel was fresh, very clean and very tastefully decorated. There is a good modern bar area and a smart adequate restaurant. Breakfast was well stocked and the staff very friendly and helpful. All four of our party would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
