Ensure you bring a tripod as there are great opportunities to take amazing night shots of Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, Old Town Square, Tine Cathedral and other Prague highlights as they are all lit up at night.
Its a waste of time writing a tip about Prague in detail, as people coming to the Czech Republic will have Prague as a priority.
Ignore and avoid the hordes of pissed pommie's on beer weekends and explore, its outstanding.
The Town Square, Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, St Vitus Cathedral are just some of the many attractions. You'll need several days here as a minimum.
While here, quaff the splendid Czech beers like the're going out of fashion and eat the excellent local foods.
Enjoy, its hard to find a better city than Prague.
Artists and entertainers such as performing live bands (as depicted on our photograph on the right), gimmicks, magicians and fire shows at night (as depicted on our hidden photograph) are very common along the length and breath of the Charles Bridge. The famous 500 meter long and 10 meter wide Charles Bridge is located across Vitava River in the heart of the city of Prague.
These artists and entertainers are making a living at the Charles Bridge throughout the day and evening especially during the warm summer months between April and September each year. Many of these entertainers are quite exceptional, it has to be said! Painters are also quite common and you can have your portrait drawn at a reasonable price!

Hi All!
How will the weather be in Prague in 3rd week of January?? Will it be too cold like sub zero?? And what all are the places to see there??
Thanks so much for all your help!
Travellingtechie!
You can get an idea of temps from the climate tables here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/world/city_guides/results.shtml?tt=TT003480
It will certainly be cold, but with the right clothing (layers, warm outerwear and footwear, hat/scarf/gloves) it is still perfectly feasible to visit. You can easily use public transport (trams especially) to get around if it is too chilly to walk much.
For what to see, have a look at the VT Prague pages:
http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/Czech_Republic/Hlavni_Mesto_Praha/Prague-400455/TravelGuide-Prague.html
Main sights include Charles Bridge, Prague castle on the Hrad, the Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock, the Jewish Quarter, strahov monastery..and lots of pivovars (micro-breweries, with restaurants: brilliant places to eat!).
Wrap up warm and enjoy! :-))
With weather present unstability it can be +10 C or -20C... Right now we have record warm November +10 to +14 C.... Most likely will be something around -5 to -10C.
Can you reply to me with the your pick of top 5 places you must see while in The Czech Republic.
Thanks a great deal!!

Besides Prague and Karlstein,
No.1. Cesky Krumlov
2. Telc
3. Tabor
4. Plzen (Plzenski prazdroj - Plzen brewery)
5. Slavonice
enjoy
Are there attractions in these citys that MUST be seen by travelers?
Are there attractions in these citys that MUST be seen by travelers?
Prazski Grad (upper city)
Karlov most (Charles bridge)
Staromestki namesti (square)
Karlovy Vary
it's 4, not 5 but that would be my top points.
Those are small towns - and the accent is on their urbanism, i.e. beautifully preserved main square in Telc (UNESCO protected). Cesky Krumlovs castle and narrow cobbled stone medevial lanes...(also on UNESCO)
PLzen main square and brewery.
I'll give you my Prague top 5 (from visit in March)
Hradcrany - changing of guard at noon is quite funny
Old Town - take the lift up the clock tower for the views
Mala Strana
Kampa Island - just below Charleds Bridge
Strahov Libraries

Q: Prague public transportation "Hello VT; I'm so confused how the 1 day or 3 days pass works. It says that you have to validate the pass/ticket before..."
A: "You validate it once and then it is good for the 24/72 hours on all public transport whether metro, bus or tram."
