good location but very old hotel
The hotel is very well placed for visiting the town, but this is the only positive thing, the hotel is old, noisy, and the breakfast is boring. It is not a 4 stars hotel, maybe two?

Great Location
My wife and I stayed here on our first overseas trip together in March of 2000. Friendly and accomodating staff, and we had a huge room, very clean. Highly recommended.
Unique Quality: Location was excellent. Walk across the Charles Bridge into Mala Strana and it's about 100 meters on your right.

Good Location & Friendly Staff
The Charles Hotel is located in the Mala Strana or lesser town across the river from most of the action but only 150 meters from the Charles Bridge. This is good if you want a quieter night's sleep. I enjoyed this hotel very much. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the rooms were quite nice, with big windows, comfortable beds and cable television. However the buffet breakfast is a little on the skimpy side.
