Vyšehrad Hotel

Sitting underneath the old castle of Vyšehrad, U Semika is in an excellent location a little off the main drag. It's a fair walk along the river to the main attractions, but a very pleasant one. But there's easy tram access, and the Vyšehrad metro station is just a short walk away.

The hotel itself is excellent, with friendly staff and a great restaurant; it was one of my best European hotel breakfasts. The room was big, and some had good views. The best rooms seemed to be at the top, which were almost little studio apartments.

The complaints were minor: The shower was limp, the wi-fi wouldn't upload so I couldn't send emails, and the neighbours were as noisy as hell (not really the hotel's fault but better sound proofing would fix this).

A: "You validate it once and then it is good for the 24/72 hours on all public transport whether metro, bus or tram."
