Hooray for Eurostars David
by TripAdvisor Member foonchi
What a fantastic hotel in a magical city. We had three nights at Eurostars David but could have stayed a week, we couldn't have felt more at home. The staff were friendly and helpful, housekeeping very efficient and the breakfast to die for. The hotel room was very big and comfortable and the bed, huge. From our window, we had a view of The Dancing House which isn't even a block away. The hotel itself is about a 15 minute walk to Old Town or Wenceslas Square which was perfect because these areas can be really busy and it was nice to be able to walk out of it all at the end of the day. We also found a fantastic restaurant nearby called the LemonLeaf which is a must if you stay at this hotel (or like cheap cocktails!).
Elegant hotel in a quiet neighborhood

I stayed at the Eurostars David for five nights in early December. I got an excellent rate, with the average nightly bill coming out to US $110 per night, including breakfast and taxes/services.
The hotel is comprised of two buildings, each with its own elevator. The main building houses the reception, lobby (where smoking is permitted), bar, and breakfast room as well as several floors worth of rooms. There's a beautiful wooden staircase that goes up two floors of the original building, with a very large landing at each floor featuring large couches---if you find the smoking in the lobby downstairs to be disturbing but would like some quiet time outside of your room, either of these areas would be ideal.
The second building, where my room was located, features a stone staircase with beautiful wrought iron railings that wraps around a very modern glass elevator. I mostly used the stairs (in the interest of cardiovascular health), switching to the elevator for the last floor or so (as I was on the 5th floor). As you needn't pass through the (sometimes----I didn't actually notice much smoking while I was there) smoky lobby to use it, and it serves both buildings, this is an option if you want to avoid smoke.
My room was located on the fifth floor, right off the elevator hall, and initially I was concerned that it might be noisy, but in fact it was always extremely quiet. Even those morning when I slept in I didn't notice noise from maids, etc. My windows were on an internal courtyard, so no view, but high up so I did still have very good light. The lighting in the room itself is, as mentioned previously, not very bright. Lighting in the bathroom was excellent.
The bed was a single large bed (probably a queen, though I didn't measure it), not two beds pushed together. Furnishings all in immaculate condition, well-designed, minibar that I used to store some groceries as well. Not huge, but spacious enough. Hardwood floors, very efficient black out curtains, large wall-mounted flat screen TV.
The bathroom was large, and featured a very comfortable tub/shower combination, large sink with plenty of room for toiletries on the surrounding apron, toilet, and bidet. Additional storage space on a large wall shelf. Lots of fluffy towels (on the very nice towel warmer), nice toiletries (including comb and toothbrush and toothpaste in addition to usual items).
I had contacted the hotel in advance to request early check-in and a non-smoking room, and received a prompt and gracious reply from one of the clerks, Radna. Although the room was not ready immediately upon my arrival due to their having been fully booked the previous night, they checked my luggage and walked about for an hour or so, returning to find the room ready. Radna had also sent information about transit from the airport. In the end I took the bus and metro, purchasing a week's transit pass at the airport (for about US $15). I used it the rest of the week, as the hotel is very convenient to the metro, as well as to two tram stops. Desk staff was helpful with suggestions about shopping, etc. during my stay.
Breakfast was abundant and high quality. I found the breakfast room to be too hot, presumably due to the toaster over that puts out a great deal of heat. Breakfast staff was pleasant.
The neighborhood is quiet, fairly upmarket. There's an interesting Orthodox church on the way to the metro station that features a crypt where a group of Czech ex-pat soldiers took refuge after they'd assasinated the Nazi governor during WWII. They were eventually found and the crypt laid seige. You can visit the crypt and there's quite a bit of history (in English). Look for the sign that says "Crypt Open."
Very Happy with our choice

We booked this through Rates to Go and used some of our membership dollars to pay for one night so it worked out to be very good value. I used Tripadvisor as a guide and was not disappointed. The room was not huge but comfortable and all the amenities were good quality. As everyone else has said, the breakfast was very good but get in early as they ran out of fresh fruit a couple of mornings we were there. I was able to connect my laptop to their free wireless broadband though it was a little sluggish. We had only friendly, positive service from the front desk. Agree that the only real negatives were the smoking in the lounge area and only CNBC offered in English on TV. No problem getting ice in the room. Went to the Lemon Leaf Thai restaurant round the corner, as recommneded on here, and it was excellent. Also dinner at two other restaurants in the close vicinity were great value. Several 24 hour convenience stores very close. We have already recommended this hotel to friends. Having said all this we found that we preferred BudaPest to Prague - Prague seemed dirtier and very crowded and seemed to have more smokers.
Good hotel, but WIFI wireless didn't work at all!

This hotel is quite good for the room, and breakfast is very good too. Just at that time, we booked this hotel due to it has wireless connection for internet. But when we arrived in the hotel, there were some problems for their WIFI DNS location, we were unable to use internet from our own laptop during our 4 days stay in the hotel. And the hotel people have quite poor knowledge about internet seem to know nothing at all, so in the end, we gave up to use WIFI.
For the hotel gym is only 2 machine for bicycles. The sauna is only 1 room, and need to book in advance before using it.
So if you book this hotel for the above services like me, you probably willl be dissappointed with it.
Dream Hotel

ok you travellers out there if you are planning to go to Prague I can only recommend you this hotel. CLEAN, L-U-X-U-R-I-O-U-S, SPACY ROOM, HUUUUGE COMFORTABLE KING BED , SPOTLESS SPACIOUS BATHROOM, friendly stuff, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat breakfast, elegant breakfast room (spacy, modern, calm). 10 min walk from the city center (walk along the river) and the metro is like 3 mins away from the hotel. Fitness room is small and not really well equipped, but when you are visiting Prague you shouldn't care about fitness anyway. The only real "flaw" I found was that the room safe is not attached anywhere!!! You could theoretically take it back home when you leave and use it as an extravagant bedside table (for the design freaks among us)... I have made some photos for you and you can see my room on the 5th floor. You will really enjoy it trust me! oh and I must mention : FANTASTIC PRICES!
