try the real Budweiser. It's EVEN better than its US namesake. The US brew is sold under the 'Bud' monniker in Europe. Because of some dispute with Anheuser Busch about copyright, you can't get it in the US under any name Drink too many and get a migraine headache. memo: bring aspirin

The Mountain SUMAVA - not far from Ceske Budejovice is most visiting place in south Czech. You can ride bicycle on many places or to walk up to hills, through the forest or sit or swimming on Lipno Lake. Some nice pictures you can see in my Travelogue.
Great frescos on the wall

Great frescos on the wall
of the castle, that was used also for the living-quaters of the servants.
Just walk around the whole walls, in order not to miss anything - the best frescos will
be seen between the entrance-tower and the church !
Black Tower
by hundwalder
The Black Tower and Katedrala ( cathedral ) sv. Nicholas, occupy one of the corners of Ceske Budejovice's immense city square. The tower functioned both as a guard tower and as the bell tower of the cathedral. Construction of the tower began in 1552, and was completed more than 20 years later. The tower which is 72 meters high, is open to the public for a modest admission fee. Views of old town C. Bud are excellent from the upper deck.
Entrance to the tower is through a fascinating wood and wrought iron door at the base of the corbelled turret shown in the photo. To get to the top of the tower you climb the narrow and steep circular staircase housed in the turret. The only windows in the turret are the peculiar keyhole shaped variety shown in the photo. The architecture of the tower itself is bold, plain, and forceful. Needless to say, only the lower part of it is shown in the photo. Note the brilliant ceramic tiles of the city square adjacent to the tower.
the panorama
by globetrott
The panorama of the whole town-square is quite impressive, when you see it from the town hall.
There are plenty of parking-spaces all around the square, but the square itself is totally used by pedestrians only.
Please click on the pic, to see the total panorama - as a lot of it is un-visible in the small size !
