Compact but friendly
I stayed two nights. I'd booked a single room, but on arrival I was asked if I would mind sharing as they were over booked. I didn't mind, even after they warned me it was a tiny room - and it was. No more than an attic space with a piece of wood pinned to each wall with two mattrasses placed on top. Still, that's a good way to make a new friend! I had a small but pleasant single room the second night and they provided me with an electric heater as it was a cold.
The rest of the space was very nice; clean and well equipped kitchen, compact but clean bathrooms, and lovely outside spaces.
Unique Quality: Hostel Merlin is on the riverside, and right in the middle of the town. It has a long balcony with seats and tables and a small terrace below that overlooks the river.
