You can take a shuttle bus from CK to Linz (Austria) and hop on a train to Vienna from there.

It will be more expensive vs CK ->Cesky Budejovice ->Linz -> Vienna rout, but way faster.

We paid for the Sebastian Tours shuttle bus 778 CZK (~30 euro) for two people. It took us 1.5 hours to get to Linz.
Shuttle bus leaves at 9am, 11am, 2pm. They pick you up infront of your hotel.

To reserve tickets, you can just go to the Tourist Information on the main square and they`ll help you out.

Travel Tips for Cesky Krumlov

Canoeing for two days in Cesky Krumlov region

by Eugenetheduck

Canoeing from Vyssí Brod past Cesky Krumlov to Zlata Koruna. There is a constant flow downstream, which means you can have rests along the way and still make good time down the river. The highlight is definitely the ramps down the weirs and making your way through Cesky Krumlov. Canoe hire from Ingetours cost 150Kc/person/day. The cost included canoe, life jackets, dry barrel, transport of your backpacks/bags to next destination (they have campsites from 50Kc/person over 5/night for camping).
You paddle approx. 5 hours a day.
Along the way there are numerous pubs, icecream shops and camp grounds, therefore you don't need to take a lot of food, just water and snacks.

Prague to Cesky Krumlov

by shuen

Since the rail system in Czech is not as well developed to the rest of western europe, a better alternative is to take the bus from Prague to Cesky Krumlov.

Journey by bus from Prague to Cesky Krumlov takes about 2-3hrs, cost about 250Kc++ return.

Medieval Style BBQ Cellar

by kit_mc about Krcma v Satlasvske

This place offers great food at reasonable prices. The service was a little slow, very slow, but the food made up for it. Medieval style cellar with axes and swords on the bare stone walls kind of liven things up. Mind your head...

Sit towards the back of the restaurant as the open BBQ, though interesting to watch, can get a bit too smoky. We had a great mixed grilled platter at 380 crowns. A real meatfest! Enjoy it with a beer.

City gate and ramparts

by hundwalder

Part of old town Cesky Krumlov is shown framed inside of one the medieval city gates. This part of the city appears much as it did 400 years ago. The arched stone gate is an unaltered part of the original city fortifications, built about 600 years ago. Sentry posts rise up above the ramparts. Most of the fortifications are still intact.

Shown inside of the gate are some well preserved early Renaissance buildings. Their red tiled roofs are common on buidings of all ages throughout Chechia. The tower like building in the center lends the perfect touch to this characteristic old world scene.

Church of St. Vitus

by iwys

The Gothic town Church of St. Vitus was originally built in the fourteenth century. but it was rebuilt from 1407 to 1439. It is a three-naved hall church with a reticulated vault. It stands on a slope above the river, on Horni Street, and its slender spire is visible from all parts of the town.

Vilem of Rozmberk, the Bohemian nobleman responsible for much of the grand building work in the town, is buried here.
