Vienna ... to Prague-Cesky Krumlov- Budapest
by finleysteve
We fly into Vienna, and hope to see the above cities. Starting and ending in Vienna, is there a logical sequence in terms of public transportation/easiest travel for Prague, Cesky Krumlov and Budapest?sf

The only practical way to travel by public transportation to Cesky Krumlov is from Prague, via Ceske Budejovice. You may be able to get there from Vienna via Linz, but it would be slow. Krumlov is a small city. Of course if you are driving, getting there is easy. If you need details for the Prague connection and a clean and inexpensive private pension in Krumlov, feel free to e-mail me.
Enjoy your trip my friend.

Travel Tips for Cesky Krumlov
Go canoeing
by Nadia7
You can hire a canoe, go camping (http://www.atcolsina.unas.cz/en/main.html) - you can hire a bike and go cycling...
Water is sometimes too low, though, for canoeing. Try this link, there are some tips.

Canoe Tours
by iwys
Group canoe tours operate on the Vltava River from June to September. I-day tours cost just over 20 euros per person, while 2-day tours are less than 60 euros.
Alternatively, you can just hire a canoe, kayak or inflatable raft for the day. You can rent a 2-man canoe or kayak, plus lifejackets, for around 1,000 CZK, or just over 30 euros, per day. Most people tend to capsize them in the weirs, but the water is less than waist deep in the summer months, so there is no real danger.
Medieval Tavern Atmosphere
by JetlagCity about Satlava
Satlava had excellent food and a great medieval atmosphere, too. It's in a cellar-like space, with only candles for light, and meat cooked on an open fire. I really enjoyed hanging out here!
Meat dominates the menu. Ours was juicy and flavorful - try the wild boar if you get the chance, with a mug of the original Budweiser beer, Budvar, from the neighboring town of Ceske Budejovice. It's a lot more flavorful than the American version of Budweiser!
This is a very popular place, so it's probably best to get reservations.
Castle Gardens
by lizzie1715
Unlike most places in money gulping Europe, the castle and gardens are open free to the public !!!!!!!!! Well done Czech's . Beautifully maintained gardens, lovely to stroll and let your imagination roam free
The Bridge
by JetlagCity
These stacked archways bridge the different parts of the castle located on two adjacent hills. It's quite striking, and reminded me a little of an old Roman aqueduct. There are a couple levels of covered corridors for walking across, and one level was designated for riding horses across.
