Hy.
you must catch tram #5 or #8 to Stary Liskovec, then bus #402 direction Veverske Kninice. During the races there is also the bus 400 that starts from Mendlovo square

Travel Tips for Brno

Petrov

by Veroali

Petrov cathedral is a view point of Brno. It stands on a hill and there are some gardens around and old buildings, which makes this sight spectacular.
This gothic cathedral started to be built in year 1090. Getting through many changes, later was burnt by Swedes during a battle in 17. century. Still in 19.century it didnt have any of two recent towers.
Petrov cathedral is exactly in the centre of Brno, nobody can miss it. The masses take place regulary. The cathedral is very beautiful inside. It is possible to go up to one of the towers. From the north one is a view on Brno and from the south one on the landscape around Brno. It costs 35 Kc (1,4 euro). Also there is an exhibition of jeweleries.

Meeting place

by Vcela

If you head up Ceska from Namesti svobody, where it connects with Jostova, throughout the day you will notice people hanging around, especially in the evening. This is because this is the most popular meeting point in Brno.
Please note that the good people of Brno have a habit of arriving late, which was always amusing due to my English nature of arriving early.

1 FC Brno

by Kettleman

If you are a footie fan (or soccer fan!!) then a visit to a Czech League match may be a sight to behold.

The standard outside the top few clubs is not that good and probably equates to the English Coca-Cola Championship or League One level, certainly not the Premiership with it's £90000 a week players.

Over the year Brno's team have had a a few names, once linked to the muntions factory, Zbrojovka, and then to the BOBY empire when a millionaire arrived from exile and spent loads on the club and the surrounding hotel...

The staium has been upgraded over the year and amazingly you can still buy beer and watch the game with it, a practice outlawed in many countries.

Brno aren't too good and this year 2004/05 finished in the bottom half of League 1. Beer, flag and ability ot shout "Velke Morava" when playing any side from Bohemia.

Hit Jihlava on the way from Prague to Brno!

by richiecdisc

Jihlava was once the chief source of silver in Central Europe before Kutna Hora took the distinction but the wealth of the town is still evident in the beautiful architecture. It is home to the larget square in the country and a pretty decent brewery too. Jihlava is a surprisingly big city and restaurant is a real oasis in the middle of it. Adjacent to the brewery, it's not only a good sized though down to earth restaurant but there's a big beer garden outside, complete with swings and slides for the kiddies.
Located on the edge of Bohemia, on the Moravian side of the border on the road from Prague to Brno.

Decorations Of The Old Town Hall's Gate...

by coceng

Well, the decoration on the Old Town Hall's Gate. The day time photo on my 'must see' tips. Much clearer of course.

At night it was an amazing sight as well. My camera just couldn't capture it nicely.
