Burcak. What the hell is that?
by andreslo2000
As I wasn't staying in Brno itself but in some 80 km far Znojmo, my Brno experience was just one or two visits of the city. And my favourite thing there was rain. Really! Haven't I told you before that this year my only companion on trips all arond Europe was rain. Don't you belive me. Just check my Budapest page (May this year), see my Munich page (August this year), visit my Rijeka page (May this year). Rain, rain and rain again. I must be surely born under a lucky star.
Shopping malls
by lehmus
What's wrong with you people? Spending weekends with your families at shopping and amusement centers! Grab the kids and go for a walk in woods! They are growing fat and stupid!
Unfortunately, more hideous malls are being built around and in Brno. If you can, keep away.
Impressive nature

Mariánské údolí is an area situated at the end of the city. We even used to go there to study botany, because there are plenty of special and rare flowers and plants, also animals as cute dutches. Very nice park with forests all around and ponds in the middle, where is worth to go to relax.
For a real relax there is a pub on the way.
Take a bus from city centre number 45 towards terminus station.
Znojmo / Znaim - south-west of Brno
by globetrott
Znojmo / Znaim is a small town of 39.ooo inhabitants and mainly famous for its wine and for its pickeled cucumbers ( the famous Znaimer Gurkerl )
Znaim is just about 35km south-west from Brno / Brünn.
On my picture you see the theatre of Znojmo.
There is also a great town-square and the lovely tower of the townhall, lots of great buildings and the castle.
1-2 hours should be enough to explore the city, especially when you are lucky to catch the small sight-seeing-train getting you to all places of interest.
