Fantastic place lacking friendliness...
by internicholas
The place is terrific, of unusual beauty and charm....sit by the river and enjoy your drink..visit Tower Dianna and feel the forest...try original spring water and the Becherovka!...so many nice things to enjoy... I was impressed by the rudeness of the shop keepers and hotel/spa personnel...I rarely met this phenomenon in my travelling years...
Taste the water
by pili
Karlovy Vary has twelve mineral springs, each one with a different chemical composition, even different temperature. The one at the picture is the Sprudal, the oldest spring in use, right since the 13th century.
This is also the largest and hottest of the springs (12m hight, 72 degrees celcius)
You can taste the water (the temperatures varies from 30-75 degrees). The water is free but it is a good idea to buy one of the special cups when you drink the water. The taste is very special and it is said to have a fantastic influence on the body.
BOHEMIAN GLASS
by svefay
Karlovy Vary is one of the famous SPA center in Central Europe. When we were in Prague we decided to see this little city, and we rent a car to go there.
It was a nice trip from Prague to Karlovy Vary, we almost see the CZ.
We walked all day in the city.
We looked for some marks of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who has been visited here for a urinary stone problem.
We went a factory which manifactured bohemian glass, they were good, beautifull and expensive.
pls let me remind you:
the city has a film fest!...
