Questions about Online Train Ticket Purchases

Hello.

I have a question concerning the online sale of Czech train tickets here:

https://eshop.cd.cz/eliska.aspx?lang=E

If I understood it correctly, anyone can purchase international express train tickets by credit card and print the confirmation, just like a plane ticket. Did I get it right?

And if so, are the prices quoted online lower than the prices one would get if one would just buy the same ticket shortly before departure at a train station ticket counter?

Hi,

Eliska page you gave in a link is for rail card holders!

Yes, anybody can buy buy ticket tickets on www.eshop.cd.cz.

You have to register: provide e-mail address and name with ID or passport number which will be later printed on the ticket. Ticket is sent via e-mail as PDF file, you print it and show to the train conductor together with ID.

That means ticket is not transferable. Also ticket is valid only on the train number and travel date printed on the ticket - you can not take other train.

One more aspect is that special price tickets are offered not for all connections - if you need particular train it might not have on-line ticketing.
Tickets are on sale 60 to 3 days (if allocated seats not sold out earlier) before the departure date.

And regarding price - these online prices are lower than regular prices, you will not get this price at counter at all.
