Frydek-Mystek
On your tourist but also business trips do not forget to visit the county center Frýdek-Místek – a natural, administration and budiness center of the Beskydy Mountains region. The town is situated under the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains at the confluence of the rivers Ostavice and Morávka, at an altitude 290 m above sea level.At present, nearly seventy thousand people live here. Protected nature reserves Profil Morávky, Kamenec and Kamenná are among the most interesting natural monuments of the area.
The town of Frýdek-Místek as the name itself already suggests was formed by the merger of two originally independent towns - Místek, located on the Moravian side of the river Ostravice and Frýdek, located in Silesia. The town hastwo squares - the Chateau Square of Frýdek and the Square of Freedom of Místek. Both these towns owe their creation to the crossing of an important trade passageway from Olomouc to Cracow. The international road E 462 connecting the North and the South of Europe still passes through the town and crosses here the railway and another road connecing the town Ostrava with its natural recreational area in the Beskydy Mountains. An international airport in Mošnov can also be reached from the town by car in 15 minutes.
