Travelling to Krakow, and want to stop off in Olomouc for the night. What are the rail connections to get there? I looked in "raileurope.com" and it requires the change stations which I don't know. Thanks.

From where will you be travelling to Krakow ?
If it is Praha, the answer is easy : Olomouc is on the railway line between Praha and Krakow.

Yeah, I did leave out the important fact that we are travelling from Prague. Thanks.

Denisova is one of the main streets of Olomouc. To get to the Old Town from bus and train station get a tram - you will go this street.
On the picture you can see view on Denisova Street with the Cathedral in the background.
The University founded in 1573 consisted of Philosophy faculty and Theological Faculty. Now it houses the study rooms and depositories of the Regional Museum. I does not take long by just a look of this building that in the past it has not been looked after very well but still it has great charm.
That's the symbol of Olomouc and it's most important monument. The Holy Trinity Column (Sousosi Nejseteisi trojice) is probably the most beautiful one of its genre. It was bult between 1716 and 1754 by sculpturer V. Render and it's probably the biggest baroque sculpture in central Europe.
Dolni Namesti is the second largest square in Old Olomouc, and just few metres south of Horni Nam.
In this square you can find the Marian Column of the "black death" (Mariansky morovy sloup), the beautiful church of St.Mary's annunciation, built in 1661, and the beautiful Hauenschild Palace, in Renassaiance style of the 16th century.
