Good For Families
Finding accommodation for the night in Kutna Hora was our first task. We were travelling by car, so we wanted somewhere to safely park the car for the night. This was a bit of a problem until we came across Hotel Medinek situated in the Old Town square.
Position couldn't have been better! They had an off street car-park, so we booked the night here.
This 3 star Hotel is rather dated, I didn't care, it was clean and that was what mattered!
I was happy it had a LIFT, so much easier when your older! We also had a choice of rooms, so we took a non-smoking room.
Our room had a separate shower and toilet, good size desk, safe, fridge, TV and plenty of room and FREE WIFI.
It didn't have any tea or coffee making facilities, so bring your own or head to a nearby café!
The front desk is open 24hours, they have a tour desk, currency exchange and luggage storage
After my walk, we sat in one of the lounges which was quite large and had a drink. That evening we dined in their Restaurant. The meal was good but the service was bad.
A buffet breakfast was included in the price. There was a good array of food which included hot and cold. Egg & sausages, coffee or tea, juice, roll, jams & spreads, cold meats and probably more - can't remember!
We had a good night here!
A well situated hotel.
Medinek Hotel is very well situated alongside the main square, about 15 min from the railway station as well from the bus station (they are apart from each other).
It's a three star hotel. Rooms are ordinary, but comes with refrigerator. At the ground floor there is a restaurant serving meals until 22.00.
For breakfast you will choose from 8 different choices.
Directions: At the northern side of the main square.
Very Decent and Central Accomodation
We didn't plan on staying at this hotel at all. We arrived at the bus terminal and wandered around looking for the hostel. Turning into a small lane Na Slone brought us to the square and Medinek Hotel. We were tired and thought "What the Hell?" and wandered in. The hotel is very retro in its furnishings, polish dark wood and curtained windows. But the best part was when we opened the door to our room and discovered the hotel had put the four of us in one of the apartments. It was fabulous, and we all have our own little room. Mine overlooked the main square. The apartment was a steal costing a mere US$40+ at that time. The price may have gone up a little now.
Unique Quality: Very Central
Unique, retro interiors
Directions: On the square.
