One thing that pleased me in Ronne is the harmony in building's volumetry. A few examples of modern architecture combine well withe the traditional style and proportions of the houses. Colour helps to give a warm look, in a cold weather.

Travel Tips for Rønne
Old Roenne
Go for a stroll either around St Nicholas' Church on its hill or down the quarters north-west of the main square and you will be rewarded by lovely little streets with old houses full of roses in summertime.
Ronne
In my first visit I had not much time to Ronne, but this time I could explore it twice. It's really a beautiful city, with the old quarters very well preserved and maintained. As expected, it is also the best city in the island for shopping.
Rønne - Capital of Bornholm
Bronze Age Viking relics, curious round churches, inviting beaches, pleasing seaside villages, delicate blown glass and delicious smoked fish are each part of the charm of this idyllic isle off the coast of Sweden. Once an independent nation, this Danish island has been controlled at various times by Sweden, the Hanseatic League city of Lübeck and, most recently, Germany during WWII. Enjoy a swim in the Baltic, if you are brave or explore some of the island’s 130 or so miles of pathways by bike or on foot.
Rønne can be easily explored on foot - its charming old town with typical Bornholm houses and many street cafes and restaurants invite to relax and explore.
Gateway to Bornholm
Roenne is the first place most people get to on Bornholm. As it happens, they are also eager to leave it to get to one of the many other sights on the island. This is perfectly understandable, since Roenne doesn't have the same charm as Gudhjem and Svaneke, nor a white beach or cliffs to make people stay. It would however be a shame not to see anything of the town if you have the opportunity. We spent an afternoon here when we had cycled from Dueodde to catch the ferry back to Sweden and whilst it is no firm favourite, we ended up learning a lot about Bornholm life here - the way you do in a capital.
