Beachfront Hostel

I really couldn't fault this place:-

- informal, friendly atmosphere
- very reasonably priced
- clean rooms, showers, toilets and communal kitchens
- nice garden, overlooking the beach (with outside tables, if you wish to eat outdoors on a warm evening).

Great if you can stay in the beautiful Villa (Molkte), but when full they also have blocks of rooms, within the grounds, to the side of the Villa which are perfectly fine (reminded us a bit of a 1950's Motel), but don't worry they are well maintained.

Unique Quality: Beach, literally at the bottom of the garden

Lovely Seaside Hostel minus the beach

Honestly, it doesn't get any better than this. This joint is probably the cheapest and loveliest place to stay in the whole of Helsingor . Where else can you pay US$24 for a bed in a grand villa((it was formerly called the Moltke Villa) that faces the sea? To top it off, they offered really good grub for the smosgarbord breakfast for about US$5. Liz and I took a double room ( it cost slightly more ) and were pleasantly surprised when we were offered a stand-alone chalet that looked like a wooden teepee. Despite the small interior, the room was clean and it had a cute pine bunk-bed inside. The service staff was pleasant too and did I mention that most of them were blond and well-endowed? Pity Liz and I weren't guys, our eyes would have popped out of our sockets.

Unique Quality: The wooden teepee had a table, chair, en-suite loo and even a drying rack. My only gripe here was the beach. Sadly, it was only a slim strip of black pebbles.
