Clothes for winter survival in Odense
by Dolo
Hi,
I am moving to Odense in mid-January to work in the University as a post-doc. I do not have a clue about what kind of shoes and clothes should we wear. Does it snow? Do we really need completely-water-proof shoes and coats? Should I buy shoes here in Argentina or over there? The best I have been able to find here (we are in spring) are Hi-tech trekking shoes, supposedly water proof, that cost approx. 100 USD.
How much does a pair of appropiate shoes cost there?
Thanks a lot for your attention.

the temperature is generally around 0 degrees in january in denmark.
it can also be quite damp.
we kinda have patagonia climate if you compare to argentinian climate.
clothes is generally much cheaper in argen tina than denmark but january is the cheapest month of the year to shop in denmark because of the winter sales that starts just after christmas.
enjoy your stay and keep asking all the questions you have and we will do our best to help you.

Travel Tips for Odense
Odense is a top cultural city,...
by ClaesDenmark
Odense is a top cultural city, with a wide range of exciting museums and attractions: The Hans Christian Andersen Museum, with rare, unique editions of the author's fairy-tales, private letters, notes and personal effects.
Odense is a vibrant modern city with a host of events - especially in the summer including music, theatre and street entertainment for young and old everywhere - normally free of charge.

I think this is Munkemollestr. Well, I'm pretty sure but correct me if I'm wrong.
It's a pretty uneventful street, all modern buildings and it's a dead end because you'll find yourself driving into a parking garage underground.
Hitchhiking from Odense (Direction West)
by Obak81
If you want to hitchhike out of Odense in the Direction of Middelfart or Jutland you can take the bus number 51 in direction Bolbro.
Take the bus to the end station and go 50 meters down the main road to the city sign. From here you will have a good chance as most of the people going from Odense in western direction will pass here. Also it is possible for the cars to park easily by the road at this place.

the old town of Odense
by globetrott
Odense has a lot of beautiful and interesting half-timbered houses in the old town-centre and in the side-streets far away from the Andersen-museum as well.
Take a walk and you will find them, beautifully restored and used for everyday life and business.
