2 star wanting to be 3 star

This below review is about a hotel that does not exist as it has been remodeled and has become the Andersen Boutique hotel. The location is still the same but information about the room and breakfast likely have changed.

This mix of 2 star ie shared baths with 3 star rooms near the central station is one of the more affordable en suite rooms in Copenhagen. Be aware that it is in the middle of the red light district. Late at night expect to walk by prostitutes and the men that surround them. Rooms have free wi-fi which is nice and my rate of 695 kr per night for two included breakfast. Breakfast is nothing to write home about as included the normal breads, stall danishes and some smelly fish. Room dates from 1980s including the small color crt tv. Shower is functioning with decent water pressure. Expect noise even if you are on top floor as the courtyard seem to amplify noise. Also expect a musty hotel room as my non-smoking room smelled like smoking was done recently. Do not get fooled by website as the show mostly image mostly images of Copenhagen and not hotel.

Unique Quality: Very near train station so if you are just coming for couple of nights is okay if you do not mind the illicit activity. My recommendation is spend an extra 100kr to be in a better area and better hotel.

Small rooms but great breakfasts

We were looking for a centrally located hotel that was going to be reasonably clean but not too expensive ( remember this is Copenhagen where most things seemed quite pricey to us). We wanted two double rooms for a couple of nights.

The hotel was indeed centrally located as it was only about 5 minutes walk from the main central station and the Tivoli Gardens. Like many other cities the areas around big stations tend to attract the seedier aspects of life and this was no exception. My kids were astonished at some of the things they noticed in the sex shop near to the hotel and the girls on the street were very up front. But hey that's part of life and we all thought it was quite funny really.

I'd forgotten that the rooms I'd booked, for economies sake, didn't have en suite bath rooms or toilets and my daughter came back horrified that she would have to share a shower but she got over it and the washing facilities were perfectly clean and tidy. But I will say the rooms were small although the beds comfortable. I'd probably booked economy rooms - the hotel does have higher grade rooms as well.

The best thing were the breakfasts. There was a very good range of cereals, breads, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cheese and sliced meats all on an eat as much as you like basis - important when you're sightseeing.

So nothing extraordinary about this hotel but it served our purposes and was within a price range that we could afford. On that basis I'd recommend it.

The photo has been taken from the hotel's website. They own copyright on it.

Unique Quality: The hotel doesn't have a pool and I don't think it has a bar. It's just a place to stop for a few days whilst its guests go out and explore the city or do business.

Fair Price, Good Accomodation

This hotel is one of the few hotels near the railway station. The rooms are old-fashioned but very clean. We have shared the toilet but there are also rooms with toilet inside. Price was acceptable. The best service was to exchange money with less commission than exchange offices.

Unique Quality: Bed and Breakfast. Rooms are ok, breakfast is also ok. do not expect too much, this is not a 4-5 star hotel.
